I didn't think that I saw a place with this style, but it was a little bit incredible, it was full of Japanese style and very delicate design!
The grounds were well laid out. Beautiful and peaceful from every direction. The walk through the paths was pleasant at every corner. The ducks swam in the ponds and the day looked out. We even saw an Osprey flying overhead so close to see the details of its feathers! I highly recommend it. Also related to Star Trek, the training school scene in Star Trek: The Next Generation was filmed here.
The place was beautiful, very peaceful and harmonious during the winter season, with lots of photo opportunities. We came with our 1 year old and she all took great pictures of us. It was very convenient to push a stroller in the courtyard. Unfortunately we had to buy tickets for small children, although usually no tickets are required for children under 3 years old, but it was well worth the ticket to get to the courtyard. I was born and raised here and didn't know about it until my stepmother told me about it.
All the reviews describing how lovely the garden is are true. In early February we were additionally enchanted by an elegant white heron that calmly walked along the edge of the lake a few feet from where we were standing plus geese and cormorants and lots of lively ducks. The magic spell however was pretty much destroyed when we arrived at the boathouse. From the outside we could see benches that had a stunning view of the silver blue lake so we strolled in only to almost run right out. At the back of the room is a television where a voice is going on and on about how wonderful the Japanese Garden is which completely destroys the serenity of the most beautiful part of it. Inexplicable!!!
God, I didn't even know the existence of this place! This is a peaceful park with beautiful water lilies in full bloom, and all kinds of small fish swimming in the pond. Walking here in the noisy city can make your mind calm and peaceful. Why don't you make an appointment with three or five friends? Come here together.
