Golden Gate (Zlatna Vrata)

1 Reviews
Recommended sightseeing time: 1-2 hours
Address: Dioklecijanova street 10, 21000, Split, Croatia

What travelers say:

The Golden Gate (North Gate of the Old City) is the main entrance of Emperor Diocletian's entrance and exit to the palace, and it is also the best-preserved section of the old city wall. Outside the Golden Gate is the statue of Archbishop Ninsky created by Meštrović in 1929. I really don’t know who said that you can bring good luck by touching the toes of the statue. Just look at the shiny golden toes. This part Up to date. 【view】

    Very nice

Really nice. Admire the architecture. Looks lovely near sunset when it almost glows. Often used as a meeting point. Must see.

    Not too impressed

IT is part of history, it was/is an important access port, but it is no more than that. I was not too impressed to be honest. When visiting Split it is part of the journey I guess.
