We drove the River Road today on our trip to Alton. The colors were breath taking and very colorful. If you can you must drive this.

Good place to do a scenic drive

Enjoyed our drive up the east side of the Mississippi. Alton was a great stop along the way will come back when we can stay for a couple days.

We've driven this route, mainly Alton to Pere Marquette State Park, numerous time, and always enjoy the river scenes, the bluffs, the small towns and in the fall, the foliage.

Beautiful year-round, but especially during the eagle migration in January & February
