Parrots might not cooperate.
I had expected it easier to find the path, and that there would be a fair chance to actually see some parrots. The path is essentially unmarked, and not in the place that the cultural map might sugge...
We really enjoyed this preserve. There is no cost and can spend as much or little time there as you like. It was fun to walk into the habitat and just watch the birds in their protective environment...
6 of us walked the entire length of the boardwalk and none of us saw a parrot, so a little disappointing. Maybe they were just blending in really well.
These paths go two different directions directly from Major Donald Road; there is a parking lot there. They are both out and back and end at a street. We took the North bound path. First it starte...
All the land in the reserve was recently and sloppily cleared and it appears this island has little interest in catering to nature enthusiasts bird watchers or to ecotourists.
