Dongyuan Park (North Gate)

Dongyuan is the largest modern park in Suzhou. Due to local conditions, it is a harmonious combination of city walls and river, forming a harmonious combination of rolling mountains and water systems, plus rich plant landscape, natural and cheerful, and a Jiangnan water town scenery.

Dongyuan is located in the northeast of Suzhou City, No. 1 Baita East Road. The first city park in the early name is the first comprehensive park in Suzhou after the founding of the People's Republic of China. The north and south are long and narrow, and it is formerly the ancient city wall, the inner city river, Jiangyuan, the Shewang Temple and the Mengzitang site. The total area is 18 hectares, of which 6 hectares are of water.

The East Garden is located in the eastern part of Suzhou's old city, mainly composed of the east and the west. The main landscape in the west is composed of Hanbi Building, the Chinese-style garden of the American Metropolitan Museum, and the large lawn. The east is mainly the remaining mounds of the ancient city wall, and the forest on the mounds stretching hundreds of meters is lush, with birds and flowers, from south to north, four parts of spring, summer, autumn and winter. There is a wide moat on the east side of the mound. The couple garden of the world civilization Suzhou garden is in the middle of the east garden.

Yangchun March cherry blossom season, go to Suzhou East Garden to enjoy the cherry blossoms is a good choice. The East Garden built in 1979 is a typical Jiangnan water town style, beautiful garden scenery and Suzhou garden style architecture complement each other. On both sides of the lakeside avenue in the park, the tall cherry blossom trees bloom like snow, extremely beautiful.

Although Suzhou Dongyuan is not an ancient garden, it is spiritual because it is close to the Lijiang River. In March, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. But the cherry blossom forest by the East Garden Lake is a walk away. The air is fresh, the flowers are clustered, and the water is rippling. It is a beautiful enjoyment.
