What travelers say:

Climb up the crisscrossed street from the northwest of St. Steps, and then walk along the mountain road for ten minutes to reach an ancient castle called Fortica at the top of the mountain. Overlooking the Adriatic Sea, it is said that the fortress was built by Napoleon's army, so in some information it is called Napoleon Fortress. Castle tickets: adults 30KN, children 15KN. The castle is open until 22 pm, so you can also see the night view. The castle was built on the site of a medieval castle to defend against the Turkish invasion, and stands here with a panoramic view of the town of Hvar, the seaport and the distant archipelago. Sapphire clear waters surround an island with red roofed ancient buildings, plus white sailboats in the bay, it is invincible!
