Azure Cloud Temple

Bixia Temple is located at the top of Mount Tai. It is the temple of Bixia Yuanjun, the goddess of Mount Tai. It was built in the second year of Dazhong Xiangfu in the Song Dynasty (1009 AD). The whole group of buildings is majestic and magnificent. Because it is located on the top of the mountain, it looks like a palace in heaven. Bixia Yuanjun, commonly known as the Goddess of Mount Tai, is the main goddess of Mount Tai. Every year, there are endless believers who go to Mount Tai to worship Bixia Yuanjun. The incense is strong. It is one of the key open temples of Taoism in the country. The most distinctive feature of Bixia Temple is the main building, Bixia Yuanjun Hall. The roof of the hall is composed of 360 copper tiles, which "represent the number of the Zhoutian". The bright copper tiles shine with golden light under the sunlight, adding a lot of mysterious atmosphere. There is a gilded bronze statue of Bixia Yuanjun in the hall, and hanging on the wall are huge plaques with the words "Fu Sui Hai Yu" and "Zan Hua Dong Huang" written by Emperor Yongzheng and Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty respectively. There are three auxiliary halls on the east and west sides of the hall, with iron tiles on the roof, and bronze statues of Farewell Son and Goddess of Eyesight are enshrined there respectively.
