One of the three Monjus in Japan is Kameoka Monjusuri. It enshrines the Monjusuri Bodhisattva, who controls wisdom. It is said that the chief priest of Nara Todaiji Temple in the Heian period moved the Monju Bodhisattva from Mt. Gotai in China to the land of Kameoka in 807. The towering cedar tree is the entrance to the approach, and you can walk to the Monjudo for about 10 〜 15 minutes (climbing). There were several old stone statues. This Monjudo is also a place related to Kanetsugu Naoe ...

One of the three Monju in Japan

I visited on the way to Akayu, Nanyo City. Since it was a weekday, there was only a group of worshipers, and the precincts where large old cedar trees were lined up were surrounded by silence. The temple withstands the wind and snow is truly old-fashioned, with the weight of history and a solemn atmosphere. It is an old temple founded in 807, which is commonly known as' Kameoka monju, 'and enshrines monju bosatsu, who governs wisdom, and is counted as one of the three monju in Japan along with monju of Kirido in Tango and monju of Abe in Yamato. As a god of learning, many worshipers visit to pray for passing ...

During the Yonezawa Ramen Pilgrimage, I stopped by to rest my stomach and rest my chopsticks during consecutive meals. Must drink wisdom water. I was relieved by the notes "If you take a sip, you will receive the wisdom of Monju-sama" or "Don't bring the water of wisdom home".

    Original Text

It is a temple of the Shingon sect Chiyama school, known for the common name of Kameoka Monju in Takahata Town, Yamagata Prefecture. Kameoka Monjudo (Daishoji Temple) is a large temple opened by Tokuichi Shonin in Daido 2 (807), and Tokuichi Shonin solicited the Monjudo, the god of learning, to Mt. Gotai in China. I built it. Monju Bosatsu refers to Buddhas who govern the power and judgment of "Chie" to correctly identify things, and Mt. Gotai in China is one of the three major sacred mountains in China, which is considered to be the sacred place of Monju Bosatsu, and the Dalai Lama has also visited China. Buddhism ...
