The City of Art and Sciences was designed by Felix Candela and world famous Spanish architect and engineer Santiago Calatrava who was born in Benimamet, Valencia and inaugurated in 1998. Its cost was 1200 millions of Euros. It is the second time I came here and I am still fascinated by the neofuturistic design. The white constructions are a beautiful contrast to the blue sky. When you are tired of the museum relax in one of the restaurants or have a walk in neighboring park. My visit to the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia was a journey into a world of architectural wonder, scientific exploration, and cultural enrichment. This futuristic complex is a true gem of modern Spain. Exploring the various components of the City of Arts and Sciences was an adventure in itself. The Oceanografic, Europe's largest aquarium, was a fascinating journey into marine life. The interactive exhibits at the Science Museum made learning fun. The Hemisfèric's cinema experiences were nice. The Umbracle, with its lush gardens and walkways, provided a sense of tranquility. #tripblazers

The City of Arts and Sciences is an ensemble of six areas in the dry river bed of the now diverted River Turia in Valencia, Spain. Designed by Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava and started in July 1996, it is an impressive example of modern architecture. The "city" is made up of the following, usually known by their Valencian names: El Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía — Opera house and performing arts centre; L'Hemisfèric — Imax Cinema, Planetarium and Laserium; L'Umbracle — Walkway / Garden; El Museu de les Ciències Príncipe Felipe — Science museum; Oceanografic — Open-air aquarium or oceanographic park; Ágora — A versatile space that will allow the holding of varied events. If you visit 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮 this is certainly one of the places you should not miss‼️ 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻 has many highlight when it comes to architecture, and if 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗮 got 𝘈𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘪 𝘎𝘢𝘶𝘥í, 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮 has 𝘚𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘨𝘰 𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘢. The architect, born in 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮 in 1951, is the creative mind behind one of the most photographed buildings here, the 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀. 🗓This project opened in 1998, but construction still continued up until 2005 when the last of its buildings was complete. Certainly a place for kids and adults to enjoy a good time while in 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮 and admire the magnificent architecture and creativity of the buildings around. Take your time time to stroll around and enjoy the view peacefully and slowly. 𝗣𝗿𝗼 𝗧𝗶𝗽: get into the Agora building - recently open in 2022 as a 𝘊𝘢𝘪𝘹𝘢𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘶𝘮, entrance is free of charge 🎟- you would only need to pay if you wish to visit any of the exhibition they have - and you will get to enjoy a fantastic view of the building from inside. This popular place in Valencia is the most beautiful combination of art and science I have ever seen. Opera House; Palau de les Arts. This is the venue to see musical performances such as concerts, operas, ballets and zarzuela. Hemisferic: a digital 3D cinema screened daily of the educational documentary. Science Musuem: the shape of the building is like a shark skeleton, With the philosophy "Not touching is prohibited". The Science Museum offers different interactive exhibitions about science and technology. Agora: venue hosting a wide and variety events in Valencia. Umbracle: open garden in Mediterranean style, the park has a beautiful collection of contemporary sculptures, what attracted to me is the orange trees along the walking path in the middle of the park. If you want to experience unforgettable moments in Spain, I recommend going to Valencia. Valencia is a city with a population of about 800 000 situated on the southeastern coast of Spain, about 150 km north from Alicante. It’s famous for its port as well as a city of arts and sciences - not forgetting futuristic buildings and structures. The city has a long history dating back to the Roman Empire, about year 138 BC. I personally felt very comfortable in Valencia. The city is not filled with masses of tourists as many other cities in Spain often are. That means that the original nature of the city and Spain too can be seen and felt even better. The vivid old city is filled with incredible and beautiful little buildings, shops and restaurants. In the more modern part of the city buildings are bigger and generally very good looking. The science museum in the southeastern end of the park that traverses the whole center of the city is an example of a very modern and futuristic style. So you can easily find something to every taste. There are nearly endless opportunities for shopping in the center and the old city with numerous great restaurants is only a short distance away. Actually there’s also a nice beach at the Mediterranean coast, so even beach life is possible there. It’s a little further away than walking distance from the center but very easily accessible using taxi, rental car or even public transportation. I will surely go again one day. It’s definitely one of the cities where I could consider living too.

The feeling that the city of Valencia gives me is difficult to describe in words. It can be said that there are some contradictions, but it is harmonious in the depths of the soul. Modernization has been perfectly reflected in its technology city. Many science fiction movies have come here to shoot, but the old streets here are full of medieval phantoms. Walking in the shadow of the building seems to have hidden the kind of change. Quiet bricks and sediments, this old town seems to have only grown up and never matured. It still maintains the mysterious beauty of the human heart, and has produced dazzling new organs. In Valencia, you can smell an old, not decadent taste, and see a period of sleep and not hidden.

🇪🇸Vivacious Valencia🇪🇸 Visited the City of Arts and Sciences where the work of the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava and several of its buildings have become icons in the city. It is a scientific and cultural leisure complex which can be enjoyed with family or friends, covering around two kilometres of the former riverbed of the River Turia. It is also where the famed Valencia sign is located. We hung around here to take some keepsakes with the Valencia sign. At night the lights are on and it is also beautiful!
