The Dorsoduro area is a characteristic street in Venice. The College Bridge is in this area. Compared to other popular attractions, there are fewer people here.
Because mainly local people live here, it is very suitable for walking. Big tip: Don’t just take pictures when you cross the canal. You have to admire the Dorsoduro area. There are many tourists here. The scenery on this road is beautiful.
On the small island of Venice, there are still several districts. There are five or six in the impression. This is one of them, with a more historical atmosphere. This is an introduction in the game. I walked around and looked at it myself, but I didn't think it was anything special.
Venice is divided into six districts, including Cannaregio, Sao Paulo, Dorsoduro, Santa Croce, San Marco, and Castle District. The Dorsoduro district is to the south of Venice, including the islands of Giudecca and Sakafi Sola. This area is the highest altitude area on the island of Venice. Dorsoduro means "hard ridge" in Italian, which means relatively high and stable land. Famous buildings in this area include College Bridge, Paget Guggenheim Museum, St. Dominic's Church and so on.
Dorsoduro is the first sestieri I stayed in on my first visit to Venice. It was explained to me as the "young people's" district and the one where all the night life is. Venice, in my experience, doesn't have a crazy night life scene, but if you are going to find one, much of it will be here.
This lovely neighborhood is home to the Guggenheim and has lovely views of San Marco from across the water.
