Historic venue--just be careful about the heat outdoors
We saw Carmen out here. Downside was, it was really hot outside so the show started late and we couldn't last through the final act. It was so hot, a woman fainted in the section two over from us, and needed medical attention! But what a thrill to see an opera in this historic venue. The stage is huge and there is so much going on at once--probably 250-300 people on stage, along with horses and small kids--it's a bit overwhelming. But what a production. Note that we bought tickets day-of and it was no problem finding good seats. They were pricey, but honestly it was getting late and gelato was calling us. Pro tip: hydrate with the aperol spritzes
