History
Standing in this arch is amazing took lots of photos. Volterra is full of history and this is no exception worth a visit.
Lovely quiet spot.
We had no trouble parking at the free car park opposite this gate. Beware, there are 275 steps up to the town from this gate, so if you have mobility or other health issues, choose another car park.
Lot of steps...
The well is located next to the gates with the same name and was built in the 13th century. It is not the easiest entrance to the city, because of the steep path with more than two hundred stairs, but...
The best way to enter Volterra
Free car park and then interesting gate into the city. Be warned they are plenty of steps to go up but they are so worth it.
Entry into City
The town of Volterra is on the hill. On the steps you can reach the entrance to the central part of the city.
