Fern Grotto

Fern Grotto is a popular spot on the island, not only special but secret, and is currently not accessible by land. Book your ticket in advance at Smith's Fern Grotto Tours, take a boat along Wailua River (the only river in Hawaii that can sail), and walk to a small pier for five minutes to reach this botanical hole. Fern Grotto is still pretty, and countless ferns hang from such a high place, before sheltering in the hole, adding a touch of mystery. The entire cruise tour is 80 to 90 minutes long, with views on both sides of the river and performances by staff along the way. If you have good physical strength, you can actually rent kayak or stand up paddle and row to the pier on the other side of the cave, but it will definitely be tired.

Because we can't wear shoes when we paddle boat, we just leave them on the shore. When we get here, we find that we have to walk barefoot in the jungle. Fortunately, it's not very far. Kayak can stop at a fairly well-built pier on the other side of the bank. My paddle boat was thrown aside directly, but there was still some difficulty in getting out of the river. It was mainly because barefoot was inconvenient to pull up a very thick tree root next to it.
