Hainan is stunningly beautiful, but I honestly don't recommend visiting in July because...........
Hainan: A Tropical Poem at 18°N Latitude, An Eternal Rendezvous of Sea Breeze and Sunshine
——Unlock China's most healing vacation paradise on the shores of the South China Sea, where coconut groves sway and waves surge
On the azure waters at China's southern tip, Hainan Island sits like an emerald embedded in the South China Sea. With 2 million square kilometers of ocean territory and 1,944 kilometers of coastline, it outlines China's only tropical vacation paradise. Here, the sands of Yalong Bay in Sanya are as fine as powder, the waves at Riyue Bay in Wanning rise like snow, the rainforests of Wuzhi Mountain are shrouded in mist, and the boat-shaped houses of Li ethnic villages tell thousand-year-old stories. Hainan is not just a winter escape from the cold but also an adventure playground for surfing, diving, and rainforest exploration. Step onto this land, and you'll immerse yourself in a three-dimensional tropical carnival—diving underwater to dance with coral, riding the waves to race the sea breeze, and venturing into the rainforest to converse with macaques. Hainan's magic lies in its ability to infuse every moment with the taste of sunshine and every breath with the sweet freshness of coconut.

Tradition & Modernity: Thatched Li houses and Sanya's glass-walled duty-free mall narrate the island's evolving identity.

Wanning has many bays and capes, with Sun Moon Bay being renowned as a prime surfing spot. It's a popular spot for watersports, with everyone enjoying swimming, sailing, and windsurfing. 😅 For someone like me, I could only watch the action and splash around in the water. There are plenty of unique bars here, perfect for a drink or two, enjoying music and a drink by the sea at night. Great!
At night, this is definitely the most lively place in Wanning. There are bars all along the street, and there is also a night market inside. Food from all over the world gathers here. This is where the nightlife starts. Navigation input: Sun Moon Bay Haimen Tourist Area. Regarding tickets, we went directly in when we went. There are countless surf shops on this street. If you want to try, you can come here to find them. You can come here in the afternoon to drink coffee and cold drinks, and look at the seaside in a daze. It is recommended to come in the evening, because the sun is too strong in the afternoon.
Sun Moon Bay: Liquid Utopia on the tip of the waves This surfing paradise hidden at the junction of Wanning and Lingshui, with the language of year-round high-quality surges, writes wild poetry on the east coast of Hainan. When the surfboard splits the emerald wall, you will be sure that this is not a poor imitation of "Oriental Hawaii", but the only Chinese land of the waves who breathe the ocean at the same frequency. The epic stage of natural waves The monsoon at 18° north latitude and the seabed fault conspired to create a perfect wave condition of 200 days per year. In the winter "Quang Wave·West" sea, the waves are like crystal tunnels swallowing the limit challenger; Summer "Shaka Bay" incarnates the novice training camp, falls and space, the foam of the spray becomes the most vivid failure of learning. Non-surfers can also indulge in mountain and sea gallery coconut forest road riding, tree shadows cut into gold coins; Diving into the Kajing Island coral reef, the clown fish in the antlers of the coral to interpret the reality of the "Undersea Total Mobilization". Dimensional folding of the Langren Utopia In the "GROM" cafe remodeled by the abandoned church, ice American style mixed with sunscreen and wax, surf manuscripts and bronze skin constitute a mobile painting exhibition. In the homestay community, the bohemian hammock collided with the roof of the Li family boat house in strange harmony. After the night of the beach impromptu party, electronic music and the sound of the bonfire resonance, the language of the countries dissolved in the sound of the waves, only the limbs and the starry sky dialogue. Undomesticized Wild Aesthetics Compared to Sanya's exquisiteness, Riyue Bay adheres to the rough romance: beach motorcycles are banned to protect sand crab maze castles, and surf shops make bikinis with recycled fishing nets. The secret moments of dawn are the most valuable treasures enjoy the whole beach alone, watch the morning light silhouette the waves into a golden totem, and the fishermen humming in the sound of the waves. As a pilgrimage site of Chinese surfing culture, its value is not "check in" but experience the original dialogue between life and the ocean. When you trade shells for a bazaar, or witness a hundred surfboards rushing to the first golden wave, you read the metaphor of the bay - freedom, but the time to find a dance with the next wave.
Surfing: You don’t have to wait for the waves here. There are waves every once in a while. There are stable and exciting waves. Both beginners and veterans can play. Environment: I think it’s a small Pattaya. There are more locals. The skin color is tanned. Hahahahaha. Have a drink at the restaurant and bar next to it at night. Accommodation: I stayed at the Qingpu Found Hotel 🏨, which is just opposite the surfing spot. For convenience, the others are homestays. The hotel environment is average. If you don’t mind the trouble, you can stay at the Westin Shenzhou Peninsula and Sheraton. The straight-line distance is about 8.9km. I have stayed there, but it’s too troublesome. It’s more convenient to go into the sea with a board. Food: You can eat at the hotel. There is also a restaurant and bar next to it. There is also a small night market. The barbecue snacks are very good. Hahaha. Insert the last picture: My hands are worn out after playing for several days. [Value for money] I like surfing, so I think it’s very nice.
In terms of transportation, it is not very convenient if you don't drive yourself. So if you want to go to Riyue Bay and Shimei Bay, I suggest you rent a car and drive there by yourself. I think it is quite good and convenient. In terms of food, there are a lot of things in Riyue Bay. I remember that there are a lot of night markets in Ningjing at night. There are a lot of snacks and seafood. You can choose them yourself. I think there is also the coconut chicken here. I think it is quite good. It was my first time to go to Haikou. I think I can get used to eating here. Well, actually, when we went here, it was afternoon and evening. It was not very comfortable to take pictures because the weather was not very good at that time. We went out to play after it rained, and then, I felt that the pictures were not very good. In fact, when the weather is good, I chose a good location there. If you take pictures on the Internet celebrity highway, I think it is still very good. When we were approaching night, it felt that the place where the sky and the sea meet was difficult, and it felt very comfortable at that time.
Sun Moon Bay Travel Experience: Surfers’ Paradise, Vacationers’ Paradise Sun Moon Bay, a treasured seaside resort in Wanning City, Hainan Province, is the training base of the National Surfing Team and the bay with the best surfing resources in China. It is suitable for surfing all year round. From October to March of the following year, there are 2-meter waves for half a year. The waves are long and powerful, and the frequency of waves is high. Whether it is a beginner or an experienced surfing enthusiast, you can find your own stage here and enjoy the excitement and happiness of dancing with the waves. In addition to surfing, the scenery of Sun Moon Bay is also intoxicatingly beautiful. The blue sky like a gem, the clear water, the delicate and soft beach, the coconut trees swaying in the wind, and the coastal highway known as the "most beautiful highway in Hainan". On one side is the white sand, blue sea and blue sky, and on the other side is the shadow of coconut trees. Driving in it, it seems like driving into a beautiful natural landscape painting, and any shot is a blockbuster. However, there are some areas that need to be improved in Sun Moon Bay. During the peak tourist season, the area is overcrowded, and the design of the highway entrances and exits is unreasonable, resulting in serious traffic congestion; the scenic area has insufficient supporting facilities, parking spaces are scarce, and there are few public toilets with poor sanitary conditions; excessive commercialization and high prices have destroyed some of the original natural atmosphere. I hope that in the future, while maintaining its own characteristics, Sun Moon Bay can improve these problems and bring a more perfect experience to tourists.
