Visiting both Drum Tower and Bell Tower is a great experience. Both are located nearby, so I can easily go to another once I completed with one. Check in was seamless and the views from above is great. I love watching historical cdramas, and I get giddy seeing the furniture's inside are the same as I see in dramas. The views during the day is great, but the night view is even better with all the lights on. Try it!
Part of China and Xi’an history… must see when in Xi’an… beautiful at night
The Xi'an Drum Tower is a treasure of ancient Chinese architecture. First built in the 13th year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty, it boasts a long history and is one of the oldest and best-preserved structures of its kind still standing. Its soaring eaves, brackets, carved beams, and painted rafters embody the elegance and grandeur of Chinese architecture, carrying a rich legacy of history and culture, making it of great value for appreciation and research.
The Drum Tower is a historic building in Xi'an, as famous as the Bell Tower. The south gate of the Drum Tower is Xidajie, and the north gate is the Huimin Street, a tourist destination in Xi'an. It is very lively, especially during holidays, with a large number of people coming and going. In the past, there were drum performances in the Drum Tower, but it is now closed due to the epidemic. Now you can go in and visit at a specific time, and you need to make an appointment and get a ticket. Near the East Gate is an old street with a century-old brand, with many famous snacks.
Go up at dusk, stay a little longer, wait for the sunset, wait for the night, it is very beautiful... Take photos, although the place is not big, but it is very unique, the price/performance ratio is still good, it is a bit ordinary during the day... The Drum Tower faces the Muslim Street below, it is very beautiful, the night scene is very good, the Drum Tower is also a good background for taking pictures of people, and the Bell Tower can also be seen from a distance
The result of not seeking to understand thoroughly is that although I went to both towers last time a few years ago, I still couldn't tell which one was the bell tower and which was the drum tower. I just called them the bell and drum towers near Huimin Street. This time I finally figured it out. The drum tower really has drums. The scale of the drum tower is larger than the bell tower. Tickets are required when the tower is closed. I personally think the tickets are a bit expensive because there is nothing special about it. There are some irrelevant exhibitions inside. The drum tower is more majestic at night. You don't have to climb the tower to see it from a distance.
From May 9 to 14, I visited Xi'an for six days. Early on the 14th morning, I bought a ticket for the Bell and Drum Tower. After boarding the Bell Tower, I went to the Drum Tower again. The Drum Tower in Xi'an is one of the landmarks of the ancient city. Upon the Drum Tower, you can see a big drum 1.8 meters high and a red drum with 24 solar terms engraved on 24 sides, which is very powerful. Standing on the drum tower, you can see the bustling people in Huimin Street and smell the delicious flavor of Huimin Street, which makes people feel happy.
When I got back, I had fried noodles at the roadside stall. It was really delicious. Just down the Silk Road in Chang'an, there are quite a few stalls dozens of meters away. Back to the four-room room, introducing myself to each other, because I met a person who had just returned from Lhasa outside, and chatted. Finally, I did not go to Lhasa. Later, he listened to me about the delicious cold skin of the house. It rained heavily at that time, so they ran over with an umbrella (because I lost my umbrella on the way). When she arrived, Grandma was gone. There were people in the stall. The same place was sitting with meat buns.
