Golden Melon Villa

Jingua Building is a more distinctive building in the Gulangyu World Building Complex. The red dome on the building and the golden eaves are shining under the sun. Unfortunately, when we went, it was cloudy and there was no feeling. We could only take gray photos. Many wedding photos will be taken here.

Huang Shumin Villa is located at No. 99 Quanzhou Road, Gulangyu Island, also known as Jingua Building, which is a key historical building in Gulangyu Island. The top of the Jingua Building is separated by two orange-yellow gold-panned "Golden Melon", and the eight melons are very prominent. The building decoration is also delicate and full of personality, all beams and pillars, the corners of the board are carved flowers, birds and insects!

Huang Cimin Villa is also called Jingua Building. He was named after No. 99 Quanzhou Road, Gulangyu Island. Jingua Building was built in 1922 by a real estate dealer named Huang in Gulangyu Island. After the trip to the Philippines, Huang Cimin immediately bought it as a residence with the seller. Huang Cimin is a Longhai people. When he was a teenager, he went to the Philippines to get rich in business. In 1924, he returned to his hometown with funds. The whole family moved to Jingua Building to settle in. The color of Jingua Building is bold and the shape is strange. Even on Gulangyu Island, where there are many buildings, it is definitely a beautiful building. It is worth seeing. The two golden melons on the roof of the Jingua Building are bright and yellow in the sun, and the charm is simple and eye-catching. The gate building adopts the top of the Chinese mountain, the corners are heavy, and the beams and pillars are decorated with various reliefs. Although this is a private residence, it is still able to enjoy the eight or nine through the wall.

In 1924, Huang Zhimin, an overseas Chinese from Philippines, bought it as a residence. It features the two roofs "Golden Melon" which are unique among more than 1,000 villas in Gulangyu. Jingua Tower is a villa building built with traditional Chinese decoration technology. All beams, columns, eaves, lintels, boards and corners are decorated with flowers, birds, plant reliefs, with local flavor and Rococo flavor. The windows are European-style, all equipped with blinds; the interior rooms and halls are integrated with Chinese and Western settings, including traditional Chinese boxes and public halls, as well as European-style fireplaces and corridors. This method of decorating foreign buildings with traditional Chinese crafts reflects the local complex of overseas Chinese, which is also the unique style of Jingua Tower.

A very beautiful Western-style building, named after the roof type like gold melon. Built in the Republic of China, the shape is exquisite and chic, the relief of the exterior wall is very fine and beautiful, it is amazing.
