Hulishan Fort, located on Hulishan Mountain in the southern part of Xiamen Island in Fujian Province, my country, is a historic military facility. Built during the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, it served as a crucial component of China's modern coastal defense. Numerous ancient artillery pieces are on display here, each bearing a rich historical story and bearing witness to Xiamen Island's turbulent history.
The ticket price is 25 yuan per person, which is very cost-effective. I arrived around 10 o'clock in the morning just in time to watch the show. After watching the show, I walked around. The scenic area is very clean and comfortable, and there is a different world inside.
I'm used to receiving good reviews. The park isn't large, but the old trees, old paths, and old platforms are worth seeing. Unfortunately, the signage isn't clear, and several paths don't connect, so if you want to explore the entire park, you'll have to repeat many routes.
Hulishan Fort is actually suitable for afternoon visits. There will be a scene performance at 4pm there, where people will perform how to fire cannons in Qing army costumes. Although the name of this park is Fort, its main feature is actually to see the sea, not the fort. This is easy to understand, because in the past, coastal defense cannons and forts had to be set up by the sea, in places with very good views, in order to control the coastal areas. The cannons are also worth seeing, such as the German Krupp cannon, which is very distinctive, and at the location of the cannon, looking southeast, you can vaguely see Kinmen Island, and it will be clearer if you rent a telescope. I turned to the west side of the park, where I could see a very beautiful beach and sunset, and the twin towers of Xiamen were within my field of vision. So the reason why I recommend going in the afternoon is that after watching the sunset, you can just catch up with the low tide of the sea, and you can walk deep into the sea along the beach and reefs. After the lights come on, you can see the LED animation of the Xiamen Twin Towers.
Hulishan Fort is located in the southeast prominence of Xiamen Island, Xiamen City, Fujian Province, China. It is adjacent to Xiamen University Park and surrounded by the sea on three sides. Founded in Guangxu, Qing Dynasty, with a total area of more than 70,000 square meters and a castle area of 13,000 square meters, it remains intact. Historically known as "Bamin Portal, Tiannan Key". There will be at least two performances a day in the scenic area, with additional performances on holidays. After the performance, you can take photos with the actors for free. The performance is very interesting. Before that, you only knew the main points of the ancient guns. Today, you finally understand that before ignition, you have to wipe the oil barrel and load the ammunition. It's really interesting. On the other side of the sea is Taiwan, the motherland's treasure island. Scenic area staff are really very attentive, there are many cartoon characters, very grounded. Ticket 26 yuan, carry on 23 yuan, can directly brush 2-dimensional code entry, very convenient. The scenic spot is not half a day long enough, but in the morning, after visiting Xiamen University, you can go to Baicheng Beach after visiting Shangxiang Temple in Nanputuo. Multi-way bus is very convenient.
Hulishan Fort is located on the southeastern promontory of Xiamen Island, Xiamen City, Fujian Province, China. It is adjacent to the Xiamen University campus and surrounded by the sea on three sides. The scenic area is a national cultural relic protection unit and a national 4A-level tourist attraction. Hulishan Fort was built in the 20th year of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty. It has a total area of more than 70,000 square meters, with a castle area of 13,000 square meters. It is divided into a battle area, a barracks area and a back mountain area. The structure of the fort is semi-bunker and semi-walled. It has a European style and the architectural charm of the Ming and Qing Dynasties in my country. It was historically known as the "Gateway to Fujian and the Key to the South of the Sky". The scenic area receives an average of more than one million Chinese and foreign tourists each year, becoming the business card and window of the tourist city of Xiamen, and an important tourist attraction and patriotism education base in Xiamen.
Gulangyu Island and Nanjing Tulou are both worth visiting. The photos are as beautiful as pictures. Don't bring too much food when you come here. There are special snacks everywhere. They are very delicious. You must eat lobster in Zengcuo'an. They are fresh and delicious. There are many things worth buying here. The prices are not expensive. You can buy as much as you want and mail them back. If you buy from the same store, you can mail them for free. The pearls here are very good and worth buying. Because Xiamen University is open when students do not have classes, you can fly from Tianjin to Xiamen on Saturday or Sunday morning. After checking in, you can have free activities on the first day. You can first visit Xiamen University and then eat snacks on Zhongshan Road. I still like this group very much. We chose to stay in Gulangyu Island for one night. I feel that Gulangyu Island at night is also different from that during the day. Strolling on the beach, you can see Xiamen across the sea, and you can also eat various snacks in the snack street. The seafood and fruits here taste very delicious. The feeling of the free tour group is still good, better than coming to Xiamen by yourself, because there are many places that you don’t know for the first time, and you will miss a lot of beautiful scenery, such as Yunshuiyao, and the local specialty tea, Meirenhong is also very good. Here I sincerely thank the tour guide for his care and explanation along the way.
Hulishan Fort is a historical treasure of Xiamen! It was built in 1891 and has witnessed a century of vicissitudes. The Krupp cannon, the world's largest coastal cannon, demonstrates the bravery of the nation. As a national defense and patriotism education base, it attracts countless tourists every year. The exhibition hall is rich in historical materials, which makes people deeply feel the weight of history and the pride of the nation. A must-visit place!
