Chi'ancun

In the 20th year of Tang Zhenyuan, the Japanese monk Kukai came to our country by boat to seek Dharma. He encountered a typhoon on the way, so he landed on Chian. Kukai and others worshipped the eminent monk Huiguo as a teacher in the local area, studied Shingon Buddhism, and learned traditional arts such as Chinese calligraphy, poetry, painting, and sculpture. Today, Shingon has more than 1,200 followers and more than 4,000 temples in Japan, making it the largest Buddhist sect in Japan. The red shore where Monk Kukai landed in the past has become a good place in the hearts of Japanese Shingon Buddhists, and many Japanese believers come to worship every year. Chi'an has built a sacrificial sea pavilion, a sea-viewing pavilion, an air-sea landing monument, and a Chi'an cultural relic room for visitors to watch and pay their respects. Ryoma Abe, the president of the Japanese Buddhist Association, once said affectionately in a pilgrimage: "More than 1,000 years ago, Master Kukai landed here and was warmly received by the villagers of Chi'an. After more than 1,000 years, we have followed the life and footsteps of the master and came here. , and was warmly received by the people of Chi'an. I believe that after this visit, more and more Shingon believers will come to Chi'an!" In addition to the attractions mentioned above, Chi'an Village also has castle ruins, Wang Youjun ruins, Guizhi Pavilion, Liugengtang and other historical sites can be visited.
