Wangyu Ancient Town is located at the southern end of Yucheng District, Ya'an City. It is famous for its ancient scenery, including Wangyu Old Street, the Old Street Courtyard House, the Wangyu Rock and other scenic spots. Among these, it is most famous for the Wangyu Old Street, which was built during the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties. The main buildings are located on a huge boulder on the side of the mountain. Because the boulder itself looks like a cat quietly watching fish in the Zhougong River below, the village was named "Wangyu" (which literally means "Watch the Fish" in Chinese).
