What people are saying:

The Pram Sa temple complex is also a large-scale temple complex, located about three kilometers away from the famous Prambanan temple complex. There are more than 100 temples here, which combines the two sects of Hinduism and Buddhism. I personally feel that it is more like Angkor Wat in Cambodia. If you have plenty of time, I suggest you visit it.

Additional Information

Introduction

Plaosan Temple is a blend of Hindu and Buddhist culture that can be seen from the shape and structure of the temple, the temple’s top is a characteristic of Hindu, while the base of the temple shows Buddhist structure. The temple was built during the Rakai Pikatan period of Hindu Mataram kingdom, which was at the beginning of the 9th century AD. It originated from the love story between Rakai Pikatan and Pramudya Wardani which was not supported by each family because of their difference in principles, culture and religion. Then, they built the Plaosan temple which became a symbol of the immortality of their love that we now know as a combination of Hinduism and Buddhism.
