The Yuejiang Tower is located on the rock hills to the east of Zhengdong Road in Duanzhou District. Built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), it represents traditional southern architecture in the garden-courtyard style. Today the Yuejiang Tower serves as a museum that commemorates its history as the site of the Independent Troop led by General Ye Ting (1896-1946). It also serves as the Zhaoqing City Museum. In the tower tourists can view exhibitions about Ye Ting's Independent Troop. They can also visit the Songtai Academy on the west side and view the ink stone exhibition there. It is a great place for sightseeing and public education.
