We took the bus from Carcassonne which was only 1 euro each way. Unfortunately stops weren't announced and it wasn't at all obvious we had reached the lake. A few people got off so we asked the driver...

Lac Cavayere, a long uphill bike ride from Carcassonne or 15-minutes by bus or car. Beautiful lake and woodland and views of mountain range. Peace and tranquility was the order of the day!
