Futuristic Museum with VR shows!
If you’re in Canberra, you have to check out the National Museum of Australia. They have a few permanent exhibits that are free to visit, and honestly wowed me with their beautiful presentation. Immerse yourself with lights, sounds and history in the Great Southern Land exhibit that was my personal favourite. They also have VR shows where they transport you to Antarctica or Outerspace at $20 aud per ticket.

Explore the city do not miss - Australia National Academy of Fine Arts and Australian National Museum
National Gallery here more than 160,000 Art works, the Chinese aunt who explained to me is a funny and elegant person duck~ I am impressed by the sculpture in Figure 3, the head is on the ground and the phone is still in the hand, explaining "social tools let us Life has disappeared unconsciously." There are five or five works, and the miniature crowd is very realistic. I asked the administrator to put a few McDonald's villains in such a serious work. The administrator said: Some people say that eating McDonald's will kill more people... Hey, Brother dei, are you serious?
The National Museum is another charm. The venue itself is very design, and its great to take pictures outside. The exhibits here are very interesting, such as the Mutombo fossils, the Sydney Opera House section, various models, and two VR experiences per day.
There are joint exhibitions from time to time. When I go, it is a special exhibition of DreamWorks Animation: from sketch to screen. You can see a lot of familiar movies, such as "Kung Fu Panda", from the sketch character to the whole movie to the screen, you can understand the birth of the entire animated film.
When you leave, remember to go to the gift shop. There are various kinds of children's books, as well as local design handmade ornaments. Some of the products are handmade by the aborigines, and they are unique and partially earned. Money is returned directly to these aborigines.
End the exhibition, you can have a cup of coffee in the restaurant of the art gallery and then enjoy the food and beauty and then leave~

The National Museum of Australia
#australiatrip
The National Museum of Australia is one of those must see exhibitions in Canberra. Although some parts are temporarily closed for renovation there is enough to keep you entertained for a couple of hours. School aged children will greatly benefit from the exhibition, in particular, the professional way it has been put together.
How our country has developed over the milennia is amazing, interesting, and a gold mine of information. It's also entertaining.
Morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch are classy and more than good enough to keep the family going for the duration.
From the city it's about a 28 minute walk or a quick cab or bus ride.
Well worth the visit.

Canberra travel guide, only spent 400 dollars for two days and two nights
Eat: More than 70 dollars a day.
Stay: About 180 dollars for two nights (I stayed in a double room at Meriton with a friend).
Travel: Round trip bus is 46 dollars a trip, student bus ticket in Canberra is 4.8 dollars a day, taxi fare in the middle is 20 dollars.
The total cost is just over 400 dollars, and the experience is quite good.
Day 1: Arrived in Canberra at one o'clock in the afternoon, after storing the luggage at the Meriton hotel, went to eat Thai food Kinn, 50 per person, the taste is good, then went to the nearby museum & gallery, followed by the Australian National, also visited the nearby central mall in the evening, dinner was biangbiang noodles, but not very tasty.
Day 2: Slept in, didn't go out until after eleven, went to both the old and new parliament, went to the Royal Mint, went to the National Art Museum, saw the sunset at Ainslie Mountain, saw wild rabbits and kangaroos (but they ran away quickly), ate Indian food Blu ginger, 30-40 per person, the taste was a bit strong for me, but it was okay.
Day 3: Spent half a day in the morning at the National Museum (the only place I went that required a ticket to see the whole museum, we only visited the free area) and Griffin Lake, ate at Terra, went home in the afternoon.
In total, two days and two nights, my friend and I both felt that we ate well, stayed well, and had a good time.
There are really few people in Canberra, there are few living people in the city center during the day, the buildings are not dense, the view is open, the sky is very clean, and the locals are very enthusiastic.
Two or three days is enough, there are not many fun places there and they are not big. Canberra·Australian Capital Territory

Great food great brews. Go to place in Canberra for a special beer.
I particularly enjoyed the Descent22 Imperial Stout. Rich vanilla flavour aged in foeder barrels with a hint of hops.
At 10% it’s not a session ale but great for a winter’s night in Canberra. Very generous serve for a strong beer too!
Combined with the tasty food menu it made for a great night out (spicy chicken wings). The atmosphere upstairs makes the place even better.

The Australian War Memorial in Canberra is a must see when visiting the capital of Australia. It's so much more than a memorial as it also acts as a museum.
The memorial commemorates the Australian involvement in war throughout history, from the colonial period to the first world War and more recent events. You can find lots of items on display such as old uniforms, medals and even fighter jets and tanks.
Admission is free, but you do need to book in advance as there are a limited number of tickets available for each time slot.

What an amazing tribute to the fallen men and women of Australia. The staff are truly amazing. What a credit to the memorial and themselves. The staff actually made an amazing place even better. Their professional approach to their jobs and the visitors is amazing. They are by far the most helpful, courteous, and friendly people I have come across. A lot of organisations could learn so much from these staff members. They topped off a great day for me. Thank you.

What one must not miss to visit in Canberra
🌿 Today's adventure took me to the National Arboretum of Australia in Canberra, and the experience was nothing short of awe-inspiring. As I wandered through the vast expanse of greenery, a tranquil haven unfolded before my eyes.
The Arboretum's landscape is a masterpiece, with carefully curated collections of trees creating a harmonious blend of colors and textures. From towering eucalyptus trees to delicate flowering specimens, each step unveiled a new facet of nature's beauty.
One cannot help but be captivated by the architectural wonder of the Arboretum's buildings, especially the impressive Village Centre. The design seamlessly integrates with the natural surroundings, offering panoramic views of the city and surrounding hills.
The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers, and the symphony of bird songs provided a delightful soundtrack to my stroll. It was a sensory journey, connecting me with the heart of Australia's diverse flora.

Enjoy the flowers at Canberra Arboretum.
Located in the National Arboretum in Canberra, Australia, there is a Japanese cherry blossom garden planted by the Japanese ambassador in 1992. Every spring, the blooming Japanese cherry blossoms present a fresh and elegant beauty against the backdrop of green trees. In addition to cherry blossom viewing, this is also a great place for cycling, climbing, hiking, and picnicking in the spring. If you want to enjoy the flowers, be sure to come in the spring!

Parliament House Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Visit Australia's parliament in Canberra
Canberra is the capital of Australia, and as such the parliament is located here. You can visit Parliament House independently or on a tour. The building is recognizable from all over the city as it is located in the center of the city on Capitol Hill.
On your visit to the parliament you can explore the huge building and its 4500 rooms. Highlights include the house of senate and the house of representatives as well as the main foyer and the great Wall with lots of art pieces all over the building.
Parliament House is open every day except Christmas from 9 to 5 and admission is free of charge.

One of the few open parliament buildings in the world
In a corner of the world, the Parliament House in Canberra stands out for its uniqueness. It is open to the public without the need for an appointment, allowing visitors to glimpse the charm of political architecture. Whether in the East or the West, political buildings always strictly follow symmetrical designs, exuding a sense of solemnity and authority.
Upon entering the building's underground parking space, you will find that there is not much decoration. Exposed structural beams, slabs, and columns are cleverly marked by a circular design to indicate the entrance, which is both simple and practical, reflecting the ingenuity and value of the design.
The above-ground space, however, is markedly different, with the use of high-end stone, wood finishes, and other materials making the symmetrical structure even more prominent. Even the furniture inside exudes a sense of rigor, making one admire the meticulous design.
To capture the best angle of this building, I once drove 8 kilometers to the opposite mountain top. There, not only did I take satisfying photos, but I also overlooked the entire city's planning context and learned about the history of the artificial excavation of Lake Burley Griffin.
Regrettably, I was unable to visit the old Parliament House's parliamentary debate scene during this trip. But I believe that it will be an indispensable part of my next journey. In Canberra, whether it is to appreciate the beauty of architecture or to experience the city's historical and cultural heritage, one can't help but linger and forget to return.

Australia's new Parliament House.
In the Australian capital Canberra, there are two Parliament Houses, both of which are open to the public. The Old Parliament House has become a small museum showcasing the history of Australia's founding and capital building. The New Parliament House is open to the public for visits as long as there are no important meetings or events.

Get up close with animals at Canberra’s zoo!
Canberra’s zoo, also known as the National Zoo and Aquarium is a fun outing for all ages! This zoo is unique from other bigger zoos as they focus on allowing you to get up close and personal with some of their animals. This zoo has a few walk-in enclosures that allow you to see the animals face to face without any cages or barricades! We especially loved feeding the llamas and the deers. The zoo is clean, welcoming with plenty of animals to see. A good day- out!

Had such a great time at the National Zoo and Aquarium in Canberra!
My partner and I sighed up to be silver members which gave us exclusive access and discounts to the zoo and as we plan on attending the Canberra zoo regularly (hopefully at least once a month) the savings on admission is amazing!
there are so many beautiful and glorious animals to see and the maintenance and facilities within the park are a delight!
Highly recommend.
