Bagan Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Bagan temples is highlight of our visit to this ancient city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the 11th and 13th centuries, 4,446 Buddhist temples, pagodas and monasteries were constructed in the Bagan plains alone, of which the remains of 3822 temples and pagodas still survive to the present day. We got a sense of the landscape of Bagan and its temples by a balloon ride in the morning followed a visit to the main temples over 2 days. We started with Ananda temple which is one of Old Bagan temples which well restored and then we saw sunset over the Irrawaddy river from the Bu Paya temple. The next day we visited the imposing three-storied Htilominlo Temple, which is currently being restored, the Upali Thein and red bricked Khaymigha temples nearby towards Old Bagan on the road from Nyaung-U.

Get up at four in the morning, simply clean up, take the camera and ride the motorcycle to the depths of the woods. Despite the sleepiness, but when I think of a beautiful sunrise, I will be strong. The stupa Xu Sanduo is the ideal place to watch the sunrise and sunset, because it is the tallest pagoda that allows visitors to climb. So, every sunrise and sunset, visitors from all over the world will gather here. If it is a little late, don't think about a good location. Standing around the top of the tower, Bagan's stupa is unobstructed, the camera is set up, the parameters are adjusted, and the surrounding partners are waiting for the dawn. More and more people came to see the sunrise, accompanied by the noisy crowd, and occasionally came out from the surrounding insects. There was a glimmer of light on the horizon, and a narrow dark red glow was gradually revealed. The 10,000-way glow was sprinkled on the distant stupa through the clouds and was covered with a golden glow. It began to fog around, and from afar, the stupa was looming, like a fairyland. After a while, a group of hot air balloons crossed the morning sun and slowly took off... After watching the sunrise, I came to the Irrawaddy River and ordered a simple breakfast in front of the breakfast stalls on the side of several old towers. My trip to Bagan.
My habit of traveling in the past is that I can't live early, only black. It was tempting for the beautiful sunrise of Bagan. This time it was an exception. It started early at 5 am.
The sky is unclear, the Irrawaddy River is still hidden in chaos, and our motorcycle lights are thinned through the night, along the dirt road between the jungle
stupa.
Suddenly a half-drilled black-skinned little brother, like Wang Baoqiang in "Thai", actually riding a motorcycle all the way to follow us, we must take us to a tower to see the sunrise, with Go and see that the tower is not high, the surrounding stupa is thin and covered by trees, it is not suitable for taking pictures.
The morning dawn has already appeared, and I am not waiting for it. We decisively return to the ancient tower where the sun was shining.
I climbed the top of the tower and looked around the mountains for a long time. The morning smog and the spires stood still. At this time, the sunrise has been in the east, and everyone is looking forward to the sky, and the morning glow is bright, like the Buddhas light, and the earth shines.
Soon, the sun took off the colorful and charming coat, and it became a high-hanging daylight.
A hot air balloon sitting on a 300-dollar float from a distance, swaying through the thousands of stupas in the rays of the sun, slowly disappearing on the Irrawaddy River.
The beauty of the world is often hard-won, and it only disappears in an instant.
Luan Bagan is an ancient city of Myanmar, a Buddhist cultural site, and a famous tourist destination. It is located in the middle of the border and is located on the left bank of the middle of the Irrawaddy River. Located in the middle of the Irrawaddy River flowing through the central part of Myanmar, it is the center of the Burmese.
The urban area retains many Buddhist pagodas and Buddhist temples built in various historical periods in Myanmar. The architectural art of the Buddhist stupa is the epitome of Myanmar's ancient architectural art and is a precious historical and cultural heritage of Myanmar.
You can choose to rent a horse-drawn carriage in Bagan, or you can choose to rent an electric car. Most hotels can rent electric cars, and the price is about 6,000 kyats to 8,000 kyats.
Bagan Thande Hotel Opposite the hotel, like Thande has a strong Burmese style, even more exaggerated is that there is a stupa in the hotel... The old Bagan hotels are different, but I am still more Like the linden tree in Thande.

The Ananda Temple is a popular landmark which you should visit if you are in Bagan. To move around this place and the area I recommend hiring a driver. You will be grateful especially for the air conditioning.

It is more comfortable to visit this place in the morning or late afternoon as the weather is quite hot. Remember to remove your shoes to walk inside the building. Remember to remove your shoes. The thousands of Buddha statues of different sizes on the outer wall of the Ananda Temple stupa, under the sun, solemnly bow their heads, overlooking the people under their feet.
Every morning, the locals and many pilgrims who traveled far and wide to worship and dedicate flowers, which are very distinctive.
This stupa is a medium-sized building in the Bagan Dynasty. Its architectural craftsmanship greatly exceeds the previous stupa, and it is built with the unique style of Myanmar...

It had have a long time fame of permitting for seeing sunset view once but now it can't be due to long term mantainance.Great scene of portrait view it have with wide green lawn and steep stairs of old temple for photography enthusiast. Used to be the climb for sunrises, but not now. This place is still beautiful, the symmetry is well worth a visit.
There’s an amazing fritters/pakode place a few clicks away from here under a huge tree, yiu would see locals flocking! Check the pics below to find this hidden spot. Good view but it's so crowded here. There are plenty of other pagodas with less people and equally good view from the top. Not good for sunset since you have all the buses and parking lot in the picture...better for sunrise.#nationalpark
Shwasendaw Pagoda in Bagan, Myanmar. This unique pagoda is very interesting in its architecture. This old pagoda also holds so much Myanmar culture and history. The buddhism influence can also be felt strongly here. This is truly a place worth to go. #wintergetaway

Why do there are so many stupas in Myanmar, because no matter whether it is the poor or the rich, everyone has the money to build a tower to make atonement. (White is commonly known as the cream cake tower, the most beautiful stupa ever seen in this trip)
The country with faith, everyone is very friendly, like to take pictures with you, but see the camera will be ashamed. Although poor, happiness is not low at all.
The Ruishan Duta is one of the most famous pagodas in Myanmar. Because it is the tallest pagoda that Bagan can afford to visit, it is the ideal place to see the city of Vantaa. Visitors who come here to watch the sunset every day make this magnificent building the most prosperous place in Bagan. The tower of the Ruishan Duta is in the shape of a Mayan pyramid. The base is square. The tower has five steps on all sides, and the platform on the top floor has two octagonal bases. It can become a well-deserved sunset tower in Myanmar. The height of the Ruishan Duta is unmatched by other temple towers. And its superior geographical position makes the tower of the tower look fascinating. The pagoda, known as the Xu Sanduo by the Chinese people, is a majestic building. It used to be a lot of net red masterpieces. Maybe you dont care about it. The cover of a magazine is the Rushan Tower of Bagan.

#merrychristmas
This temple which is easily accessible from Bagan ( by taxi, Tuk Tuk or E-bike) is one the largest in Bagan. It is large pyramid like structure visible from far. It has an interesting past - the king who built the temple came to power by assassinating his father and elder brother. He later also killed his Bengali queen, whose father sent mercenaries and had him killed. #GiveThanks

Bagan is hundreds of thousands of stupas, and its so beautiful to take pictures! It is characterized by severe obsessive-compulsive disorder, and the internal structure of various symmetrical pagodas can be instantly cured!
The most popular are Dhammayan Gyi Temple and Ananda Temple, especially Dhammayan Gyi Temple, we even met photographers from abroad, with models Come here to take a wedding! Of course, we have been filming here for a few hours and still have not done it!
tips: There are a lot of Bagan stupas. If you are a little bigger, you need tickets. You can choose the stupa according to your needs! In addition, the Burmese government has now banned the climbing of the stupa, because many pagodas are faltering after the earthquake, and there are incidents of casualties at the top of the stupa. Take a horse-drawn carriage tour of Bagan's major stupas and watch a moving sunset
to the city of Bagan, the city of Wanfo. What you can't miss is to take a horse-drawn carriage to visit the big stupas and then watch a sunset!
We visited the Shwezigon Pagoda and the Htilominlo Temple, where many stupas were destroyed by the earthquake and are still being repaired, but it does not affect the visits of the people and the worship of the believers. !
At present, the Burmese government has banned the practice of climbing the stupa, so to watch the sunset, you can only go to a slightly higher slope! But fortunately, the sunset did not disappoint everyone! Drinking a can of Burmese beer against the beautiful sunset is a happy life!
Tips Bagan has hundreds of thousands of stupas, big and small, everyone can visit according to their own preferences! The price of the carriage parade is also different from your business according to your route and price!
