Ubud Palace
The Ubud Palace (Puri Saren) is home to the Sukawati royal family. Located across from the Ubud Palace, it is where the main street and the Ubud Monkey Forest Road meets. The Palace is an iconic landmark in Ubud. The Palace is located inside the city of Ubud, an important center for the arts in Bali. The Palace was built first in the 16th century by famous artists. It contains 60 rooms and the entire palace is magnificent in appearance, in particular its entrance doors. Refined hand-carved reliefs and extravagant golden foils line the palace. Every year, lots of art lovers come here. From 19:30 onwards, you can enjoy shows of indigenous, traditional Bali dances in the palace, such as the welcome dance, the masked dance. Even though it’s now opened to the public and even has a hotel inside, this is still very much the actual palace for the Ubud royal family. During the night you’ll find performances of Bali’s traditional dances.

Tegalalang Rice Terraces
The famous Tegalalang Rice Terraces in Ubud, Bali is one of the most popular photo-taking spots for influencers in the last 2 years. It is located on the way to the Tirta Empul Temple. The road going downhill from the Rice Terrace isn’t easy to walk. Some are really steep. If you are in slippers take extra care here. Even though this rice terrace is nothing in comparison to what we have in China, the palm trees and straw huts dotted in between also have that unique character, typically seen in tropical areas. From some angles it looks particularly similar to tea gardens in Sri Lanka. There are some huts up in the middle of the mountain offering shade and reset to tourists. The majority of them produce Kopi luwak, an Indonesian specialty. This expensive coffee is defecated by the Asian palm civet, which eats coffee beans. Well... Well, I didn’t drink it. Perhaps it’s because the scenery is too nice. When you are taking photos be sure to keep an eye out for what’s below on the ground, else you’ll easily sink into mud. Your whole foot would sink in and you can’t pull yourself out. We suggest visiting the terrace when the morning sun is just about to hit. At that point there aren’t too many tourists and the lighting is great. You’ll be able to shoot beautiful photos.
