Sagrada Familia (Catalan: Baslica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Famlia), also translated as Sagrada Familia (Sagrada Famlia), is a Roman in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain A large Catholic church designed by the Spanish architect Antonio Gaudi (18521926). Although the church has not yet been completed, it has been selected as a World Heritage by UNESCO. In November 2010, Pope Benedict XVI sealed the church as a sacred sanctuary. The Sagrada Familia was built in 1882, and Gaudi took over the project in 1883, incorporating his architectural style, Gothic and Art Nouveau style. Gaudi put his old age into the construction of the church until the death of the church at the age of 73 (1926), less than a quarter of the church was completed. The construction of the Sagrada Familia has been slow, with personal donations and ticket revenues maintained, and in the middle of the Spanish civil war, construction in the 1950s was intermittent. In 2010, the construction process was more than half, but the biggest challenges in the entire construction process remained unresolved. It is expected to be completed in 2026, the 100th anniversary of the death of Gaud.
