Here you can enjoy some very contemporary art and also the show of the skaters on the square. If you have a chance visit the shop of the museum since it is filled with amazing books and things. It is a sort of a cool spot here in town, you should defintely enjoy around seven when everybody is gathered here.

Architect Richard Meier created the complex an object of artistic intrigue. It gives off an alluring combination of straight lines and gentle curves as well as permitting for an abundance of natural light to enter the gallery. The interior contains both permanent and temporary exhibitions featuring works of modern art dating from the mid-20th century. In addition to the exhibits are sporadic lectures and events.

If you're a skateboarder and you've come to Barcelona primarily to skate (and heaps do), MACBA is to Cataluna what the Embarcadero was to San Francisco - a proving ground, a hang-out spot and the site of some of the most memorable street lines to grace the skate scene of late. Ledges, stairs and manual pads for days will have you coming back day-after-day to get your MACBA on, tio. The inside of the museum is remarkable as well (or so I've heard). With all the urban, artistic expression going on outside I never actually made it inside to find out for myself.
Beautiful building in an interesting area. Really near the apartment.The temporary exhibitions are normally interesting.
At only 1 street the most importnat Contemporany Museum of the city and between two traditional neighborhood`s of El Raval district, with it`s busy and noise square.
MACBA is one of Barcelona's less frequented museums. Tourists, distracted by all of the Gaudí monuments, and the Picasso and Miró Museums, often miss this interesting contemporary art museum housed in a wavy white modern building. Somewhat hidden away in Raval, between the popular neighborhoods of Gaixample, and the Gothic Quarter, a short walk from Born, this is a great place not only to see the cutting edge art on exhibit, but to people watch, as locals use the plaza in front of the museum to hang out, skateboard, and eat their sack lunches.
