Gorgeous. Along the beach there are many restaurants and stores. You can hang around for hours.
A nice beach, but really overcrowded. Must keep an eye on your belongings. Loud drink/scarf and so on sellers.
I recommend working your way into a beach volleyball game or two with some locals.
Very crowded but pretty Nice. The beach is clean and The water was warm in The Middle of June.
What makes Barcelona Barcelona, is its Barceloneta beach. If you're looking for a relaxing and fun trip by the beach, if the BEACH is your main center of attention and willing to spend the most time at, you'd rather take a hotel in the Barceloneta neighborhood. This never ending corniche never seem to rest. From sunbathing in summer heats, to partying till dawn, to jogging and cycling, it really is what gives this city its Life.
They say it's the best urban beach in the world. I don't know a whole lot about urban beaches, but Barceloneta wouldn't be the greatest neighborhood in town if it weren't for that beach.Barceloneta is a tiny peninsula and before the Olympics there was no beach here. At least no sandy beach. It had more of Mediterranean look, with little rocks, dark, and it was used mostly as a wasteland for the fishermen, fisheries and restaurants from Barceloneta. The Summer Olympics changed it forever into a tourist-filled space, with Chiringuitos scattered troughout the ocean front and the infamous W hotel almost at the end of the peninsula. All in all, the process has been object of critics but Today Barceloneta is still a vibrant neighborhood, with its distinct personality, and the beach front seems just plain wonderful.
Barceloneta beach is the closest to the city center beach, this is the best place for having lunch or dinner in a restaurant that serves seafood. It s also good place for sunbathing, walks and sport. Barceloneta beach can get busy during the peak season (June to Sep) in which case you could try visiting Icària Beach the next beach along from Barceloneta.
Barceloneta Beach is a great stretch of beach where I first got to swim in the Mediterranean.
