What people are saying:

St. Patrick's Church is the largest and tallest Catholic church in the southern hemisphere in downtown Melbourne. It was officially opened in 1897, but the three Gothic minarets above were not completed until 1939, marking the 100-year missionary work of the Roman Catholic Church in Victoria. The church is made of blue stone, with its undulating and bulging walls, dark gray and black, imposing and magnificent, yet stately, and fully displaying the architecture of the Renaissance. Whenever the sun rises and falls, the church is covered with gold, which is very beautiful.
