Photos of Bath Abbey

"The keys, the light, the stained glass windows, the Gothic churches..." Although this is the lyric in "Prague Square", it is a perfect description of Bath Abbey. The abbey's full name is St. Peter and St. Paul's Abbey Church. It is a relatively large-scale building in the exquisite city center of Bath, and it is also a geographical sign that visitors will never get lost. The plan of the church is cross-shaped and spreads from the Avon River to the lively area of the city. It was founded in the 7th century and rebuilt in the 12th and 16th centuries. It is one of the larger vertical Gothic buildings in the west of England. Unlike the ubiquitous medieval connotation of York Minster and the spiritual symbol of London's Westminster Abbey, Bath Abbey is a Gothic church that attracts the eye purely with its ornate architectural carvings and majestic layout. Inside the monastery, you can see 56 stained glass windows dozens of meters high, which together form a complete picture of the crucifixion.
