Shachang Reservoir, also called Jinding Lake, is 20 kilometers away from Miyun County and 85 kilometers away from the urban area, with a total area of more than 40 hectares. It was completed in May 1973, with 1 main dam, 3 auxiliary dams, 1 spillway, 2 water pipelines and 2 power stations. Jinding Lake is surrounded by mountains, the deepest part of the reservoir is 35 meters, and the dam is 47 meters high. The lake is wide and clean, and the water waves gently with the wind. Boating on the lake, the surrounding scenery is panoramic, calm and natural. The sand on the shore of the lake is very fine, so the locals call this artificial lake the Shachang Reservoir. The natural bathing beach has clear water and fine sand, so you can swim and fish.
