The Lao She Teahouse on West Qianmen Street in Beijing is named for the famous folk artist Lao She. The teahouse has three floors. The first floor consists of a dining area. The second floor features a tea exhibition hall and the third floor is for theatrical performances. The decoration of the teahouse is unique. In particular, the second floor is exceptionally distinctive with its "Qianmen Style Courtyard Teahouse" exhibit. Each and every room of the building is a glorious patchwork of traditional arts and modern technology. Every day, the third floor performance area features a wide variety of colorful and entertaining shows including crosstalk comedy, acrobatic shows, ventriloquists and more. In addition, the teahouse also has a small collection of vintage and antique items on display, which showcase the characteristics of the Beijing of yesterday.
