The White Dragon Pond of Miyun is located in the valley region between northern and southern mountains. It was called the Stone Basin, or the Dragon Pond Gully, in ancient times. There the water plunges down the cliffs from tens of meters above, and one may see the beautiful view of the Three Ponds and Three Waterfalls, which are known as the Jade Streams from the Three Ponds. After the water swirls down the cliff through two ditches, it rushes into a pool and, after several turns there, falls into the second pool. The White Dragon Pond of Miyun usually refers to the head pool, the shape of which resembles an urn. To the west there is a beach. The water flows over the beach and into the three pools.
