Mir Castle Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Great place to see a piece of history, how it could look centuries ago. Highly recommended for visitors to stay at the hotel in the castle for at least one night - an unforgettable experience. The museum is also not bad, just take a guided tour, it's cheap but really worth it. This is a really interesting castle for anyone! I am really happy I decided to go to the castle and learn more about the history of the region. It was well worth getting the audio guide! Their is too much stuff to simply read and get through.
The curators did an amazing job allowing people to go through the different towers of the castle and having people explore the castle. It was really fun to climb through the different stairs and levels.
Beware for the tall people the stairs were made for smaller men! #nationalpark

The Mir Castle Complex is a piece of military architecture which reflects the long confrontational history of the region. Its harmonious design shows Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance cultural influences.
The 16th century castle has five towers made of alternating brick and large boulders. 3 meter thick walls link the towers. The castle was built by the Ilinich family to withstand attacks of the Crimean Tatars. The family died out in the same century, and the castle fell into the hands of a member of the Radziwill family. They had it converted into a Renaissance-style residential palace.
In addition to the castle, the grounds also hold a chapel with the burial vault of the Svyatopolk-Mirsky Princes, a landscape garden with artificial lake and a Mir ghetto memorial.#staycation

Autumn Vibes from Rainy Minsk
Embracing the essence of autumn in rainy Minsk, I present to you this seasonal series, adorned with the warm hues of falling leaves. 🍂 And of course, I wouldn't be a true blogger if I didn't pose the quintessential question to you, my dear audience: Among these five photos, which do you believe shines the brightest? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
Meanwhile, I'll be seeking refuge from what could possibly be the last rain shower of the year, cozied up under an umbrella at @renaissanceminskhotel. Beyond this, it seems that only snowdrifts and the promise of warm coffee await those with cold hands willing to brave the chilly weather.
St. Simon's Church
🌟The capital of Belarus, Minsk, has a red church next to the government building, standing on Independence Square in the city center. The birth of the church is somewhat sad, and it also marks the end of a noble family.
🌟The owner of the red church of architecture is the nobleman Edward Voyinovich. He was deeply in love with his wife and had a son and a daughter. Unfortunately, fate played a cruel trick on them. Their son Simon suddenly passed away at the age of 12, and their daughter Helena also passed away suddenly at the age of 19. The family suddenly had no successor, and the family line could not continue. In 1910, the grief-stricken Edward donated all his family's assets to the church and personally built a church named after his children: the Church of St. Simon and St. Helena.
🌟The two small towers at the top of the church represent two deceased children, while the taller tower symbolizes the parents, guarding the sadness and longing. On the right side of the entrance is the lonely white half-body statue of Edward Voynovich, who was destined to be the last descendant of this ancient family.

A Wonderful Journey
Description: Wandering through the ancient valleys, basking in the breeze on the azure coast, I had an unforgettable journey. This travel note will take you to experience those wonderful moments I have experienced, recording every precious memory with words and photos.
Main Text:
The wonders of nature always bring endless surprises. I embarked on this journey, looking forward to finding those natural wonders hidden in every corner of the world. Let's start this wonderful journey!
First stop: The mysterious forest journey
I first came to a mysterious forest, which seemed like a fairy-tale world. Dense trees shielded the sunlight, and the breeze gently brushed my cheeks. In the distance, I heard the cheerful singing of birds. I followed the path deep into the forest and found small waterfalls and lakes hidden in the woods, they were quiet and beautiful.
Second stop: The beautiful scenery of the coastline
Leaving the forest, I came to a long coastline. I stood on the edge of the cliff, overlooking the boundless sea. The sea breeze brushed my face, and the salty taste made me feel calm and comfortable. I strolled along the coastline and found magnificent cliffs, golden beaches, and blue sea water. These sceneries were poetic and picturesque, making me feel relaxed and happy.
Third stop: The top of the majestic mountain range
Next, I embarked on a journey to climb the top of the majestic mountain range. I carried my luggage and walked steadily upwards. Step by step, I gradually left the hustle and bustle of the world and found myself on the quiet top of the mountain. Looking down at the world below, I felt the grandeur of the mountains and the power of nature, all of which were breathtaking.
Fourth stop: The fantastic lake journey
Along the foot of the mountain range, I came to beautiful lakes one after another. The lake was clear and bottomless, reflecting the surrounding scenery like a mirror. I sat by the lake, watching the ripples of the lake, and my heart was filled with peace and joy. Here, I felt the precious gifts that nature has given us.
Fifth stop: The journey of ancient ruins across time and space
At the last stop of the journey, I came to an ancient civilization site. Standing here, it seemed to travel to the past world. The ancient buildings and mysterious sculptures made me think about human history and culture. On this quiet land, I felt the passage of time and the fragility of life, and cherished everything in front of me more.
Conclusion
In this journey, I endlessly felt the miracles of nature. From the mysterious forest to the magnificent coastline, to the majestic mountains, the fantastic lakes, and the ancient ruins, every stop made me intoxicated. This journey not only allowed me to appreciate the beautiful scenery but also made me understand the importance of protecting the environment.

Exploring Minsk: Must-See Places in Belarus
What would I recommend seeing in Minsk? 🇧🇾
⠀
Save and don't forget to ❤️🙌🏻
⠀
📍 Church of All Saints and the Crypt beneath it.
One of the most impressive places in my life. Here, soil from all over the planet, where various disasters occurred, such as Chernobyl, Fukushima, different battles during World War II, and more, is collected. It's a powerful place; be prepared to be moved because there's nothing quite like it anywhere else on Earth.
⠀
📍 National Art Museum of Belarus.
The museum's building, both outside and inside, along with its collection, is worth your attention and admiration.
⠀
📍 Belarusian State Opera and Ballet Theater.
A must-visit for opera and ballet lovers.
⠀
📍 National Library of Belarus.
Modern architecture, a collection of rare books, and other exhibitions. Plus, an observation deck and a café with a view of the city.
⠀
📍 Trinity Suburb.
An island of 10 streets, lined with merchant and artisan houses. Beautiful views of the city and cute hungry ducks ready to pose in the background.
⠀
📍 Upper Town.
Numerous iconic buildings, narrow streets, restaurants, and cafes. You'll want to stroll and take lots of photos here!
⠀
📍 Oktyabrskaya Street.
A place reminiscent of Berlin. Hipster vibes, excellent cafes and bars, and plenty of graffiti from Brazilian street artists.
⠀
📍 Minsk Gates.
Two buildings with Stalinist Empire-style towers symbolize the city gates. By the way, strange wooden gates were discovered at this location during excavations!
⠀
📍 Church of St. Simon and St. Helena.
Stands out amidst the surrounding architecture. Beautiful wrought iron entrance door and interior.
⠀
📍 Victory Square.
A 38-meter monument that attracts foreigners and those for whom the Soviet era is more than just history.
⠀
Getting around the city was very convenient because our starting point was @renaissanceminskhotel, located right in the city center. We didn't take a taxi or the metro even once! We walked everywhere.
