Chapel in the old town on the hill
The exterior of the church is very general
It's quite amazing after entering
Every corner, whether it’s the use of colors, carvings or murals, is worthy of careful aftertaste
It’s a church that is worth spending time to visit carefully
[Bergamo] For lunch, the appetizer was a plate of salt and pepper mountain pit fish. A group of Americans were pushing each other, no one dared to eat it. It’s rare to have such a delicious thing. If you don’t eat it, it’s right [ye]. Cuttlefish with mashed potatoes, another table of 20 Americans watching me, a Cantonese who eats everything, was eating. They all only ate mashed potatoes. At this time, none of the Americans who always love to be politely pretended Going down, I made a few Italian teachers so embarrassed. In fact, the whole meal was fine. Except for the lack of a Fujianese, now you know why I am so fat.
Next to the gorgeous Colleoni Chapel is the Church of the Virgin Mary. The small pointed gothic canopies are easily recognizable. The two pairs of stone lions that have guarded the church for centuries look mottled and heavy. The church was built in 1137 and was not completed until the 15th century. It is said that the Black Death spread throughout Europe and Bergamo was not spared. The locals prayed to the Virgin Mary day by day, hoping to bless the disaster, and therefore promised that if they escaped from the Black Death, they would definitely donate to build a larger church of the Virgin Mary.
Don't underestimate the gray exterior wall looks old, in fact, it glows with the ancient light of the Middle Ages. As long as you get closer and look closely, you will find that the original mural layer remains on the wall. Vaguely you can still see them still so vivid and energetic after a long period of wind erosion.
The Romanesque exterior wall is calm and restrained, while the interior is Baroque style, complicated and gorgeous, it is blindingly bright. In particular, the exquisite murals, sculptures and tapestries on the walls are famous collections and should not be missed.
The exterior is unremarkable, and the interior is extremely complex and gorgeous, much more gorgeous than the main church opposite. Both churches do not charge tickets. I went for a walk in the winter night and there were not two people inside. I felt that the whole church was contracted by me~
One of my favorite small towns in Italy. There is a church bell tower museum, as well as a very distinctive souvenir shop. Let the rail car go up the mountain, quiet and beautiful! One person came many times.
A very interesting place, the scenery is very attractive
