Monserrate is the best place to have a look of all Bogota. it is a beautifull mountain and the best of all is that you can have a great dinner in one of the theee restaurants on top of the mountain. you will be surrounded of so much green and fresh air. I went with my Mom, sister and a visitor from Italy this year (2019) and it was the perfect place for some good pics :)
The Montserrat Mountains in the north of the city are almost a must-see place for every visitor to Bogot. They are called "world-famous" tourist attractions by the local people. Because of the long history of the white church on the top of the hill, and because she has countless pilgrims in the city. Every day, thousands of pilgrims and tourists from all over the world climb up the stairs. In the eyes of believers, every pebble, every level of building is a witness of repentance. Therefore, it is also said that visiting Montserrat, for any reason, is a unique experience. Mountaineering roads, cables or railways can all climb to the top. We chose simple cables to ride.
Montserrat Mountain is a must-visit scenic spot in Bogota. There are three ways for you to go up the mountain. They are hiking, cable car and tram. The white monastery on the top of the hill is in Bogota. It can be seen in almost any corner. On the top of the hill is Tianjie Street. There are various restaurants and shops which are very busy. At the same time, it is also the best scenic spot overlooking the panorama of Bogota.
A panoramic view of the city of Bogot and the rolling Andes in the distance. Ride the ropeway for about ten minutes and reach the top of the mountain at an altitude of about 3000 meters. The white church on the top of the hill is very famous. It's called Montserrat.
a steep walk on 2.5 kms to the top of Monserrat Church and buzzing shops
Bogota's highest point, you can take a cable car to go up, of course, you can climb up, but I suggest climbing on weekends, more people, I heard that usually climbing may be robbed, although I think the possibility is very low. It's not big up there. It's just a view. Bogot is also heavily polluted. With bad luck, you can see a grey haze hanging over the city.
Montserrat Mountain is a very famous church and monastery in Bogota. It's quite suitable to go with my partner. If it's foggy, it's worth going. I think the scenery after rain is more beautiful and cheap. I like traveling. I've been to many places and seen various sceneries. This is one of my favorite attractions.
Mount Monserrate is a traditional panoramic view of the city. There are three ways to go up the mountain: cable car, small train and walking. Walking is free of charge. Take J23, J70 and J72 TransMilenio to get off at Las Aguas, or J6, J24, J73 and J95 at Universidades, and walk eastward for about 15-20 minutes to the cable car ticket office; or take C125 SITP bus to get off at Telef Ricos de Monserrate and walk eastward for about 5 minutes; or take any private medium bus marked "Germania" or "Centro" on any road plate. When boarding, the driver is told to go to Mount Montserrat, and the driver will remind him to get off.
