This is also a very steep and tall mountain. Generally speaking, it is up by cable car. From above, you can overlook the whole city. The scenery is still very beautiful. It is also a place for outings that locals like very much.
It is really infinite scenery at the dangerous peak. After sitting on the very exciting cable car from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain, you will find that there are really manors, parks, and various beautiful scenery. It should be the most beautiful place in the entire city.
Monserrate is the best place to have a look of all Bogota. it is a beautifull mountain and the best of all is that you can have a great dinner in one of the theee restaurants on top of the mountain. you will be surrounded of so much green and fresh air. I went with my Mom, sister and a visitor from Italy this year (2019) and it was the perfect place for some good pics :)
Central and South American Ecological Photography Creation Class
Colombia, South America, Bird Paradise
A magical country where magical realism and ecological beauty coexist. There are enthusiastic and unrestrained customs here, and it is also known as the world's first holy place for bird shooting, attracting a large number of bird shooting fans every year.
1. Why choose Colombia to shoot birds?
Colombia ranks first in the number of bird species in the world! The land area of Colombia only accounts for 1% of the world’s land area, but it has nearly 20% of the world’s total bird species (about 1930 species), 87 species endemic to the country, and more than 160 species of hummingbirds alone (accounting for 1/2 of the world hummingbird species) There is a high probability of success for bird photography masterpieces, and the location of bird photography is dense. The scenery here is beautiful, the shooting environment is comfortable and pleasant, and nature and humanities coexist. It is the destination that the world's bird lovers pursue in their lifetime.
Monserrat is a high point outside Bogota, the scenery is very beautiful, you can take the small train up the mountain to the top, the whole Bogota view, there are churches and commercial streets on the mountain, very lively, worth the walk.
it's a beautiful place to visit. I would not recommend the hine up due to the safety and altitude. There have been several robberies in those paths. The tram up and down gives you a fun experience. You can eat traditional breakfast there..but expect to pay the highest prices for food as it is a main tourist area. Tasty regardless. The church holds mass at 12pm and there's also fancy French restaurant with a great view overlooking the city.
a steep walk on 2.5 kms to the top of Monserrat Church and buzzing shops
Monserrat Hill in the north of the city is almost a must for any visitor to Bogota, known by locals as the "world famous" tourist attraction. Because of the historic white church on the top of the hill, and because of the numerous pilgrims in the city! Every day thousands of pilgrims and tourists from all over the world come up. Every pebble, every floor, is a witness of repentance in the eyes of the believers. So, it is also said that visiting Monserrat, for any reason, is a unique experience. Mountainway, cable or mountaineering railway can be up to the top, we chose the simple cable ride.
