St Michael's Church

After going to Hardy's cabin, you can stop by St Michael's Church and enter the churchyard to find Thomas Hardy's tomb very close to his home. When walking along the path, you can see the tombs of Cecil Dai-Lewis and his wife. Inside there are flowers selling, you can put a bunch of flowers in front of the grave if you are a fan of Thomas Hardy's book.

The building in the church square is full of British temperament, known as the "Restored Sample", and has been nearly 300 years old. The architectural level and preservation of the church is truly breathtaking. The church, called St Michael and St George, was built in phase two and lasted 128 years! The spire is53.6 meters high, and is said to be the tallest church spire in Africa.
