Fisherman's Bastion Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
🇭🇺 The world Famous Attraction : Fisherman's Bastion 🇭🇺
Attraction : Fisherman's Bastion
Location: Budapest, Szentháromság tér, 1014 Hungary
Tickets: Free
The top and most famous attraction of whole Hungary. You will see pictures of this place in postcards and it's pictures all over social media. Built in the 19th century, it was designed to commemorate the fishermen who once defended this part of the city walls. The view of the river, parliament and the iconic chain bridge from here is absolutely spectacular. This is a must visit, you simply can't visit. Do check out the sunset here.

My favorite place in Buda side of Budapest!
#wecreate
The Fisherman’s Bastion is one of the most beautiful places in Budapest. It’s located on the Buda side of the city and offers a stunning view of the Danube River and the Pest side of the city. The best way to get there is by taking the funicular from the Chain Bridge. The view from the top is breathtaking and it’s not as crowded as other tourist attractions in Budapest.
I highly recommend visiting this place if you’re ever in Budapest, visit during the weekdays for less people and also in the afternoon so you can catch the golden hour 🌇
There are some shops around to get water and restaurants to get some drinks and good local food

Budapest is the image of Europe in my mind.
Budapest doesn't have "The Grand Budapest Hotel", but it has the most beautiful Castle Hill.
Budapest is located on the banks of the Danube River (originally the water of the Danube and the Huangpu River are similar in turbidity), formed by the merger of Buda on the west bank of the Danube and Pest on the east bank. The famous Fisherman's Bastion and Buda Castle are on the Buda side, while the east bank has the Parliament Building and more abundant leisure and entertainment venues.
Attractions
Fisherman's Bastion, Buda Castle
Hungarian Parliament Building, Citadella, a recommended attraction by locals, Danube River cruise | Recommended Legenda Cruise.
Budapest: Evening Sightseeing Cruise and Unlimited Prosecco (1.5 hours). If you want to see the night view of the Parliament Building, it's best to book a few days in advance. We booked for 5:30 pm to watch the sunset, and both sides of the river were covered in golden light. Everyone on the boat was having a great time and the atmosphere was super fun, hahaha.
These scenic spots have a lot of tourists! So if you want to take beautiful photos, sisters are advised to go early. You may need to go to Fisherman's Wharf at seven or eight o'clock to avoid crowds in the restaurant.
Béchamel
This breakfast is really delicious! We ate here for two consecutive days and recommend the Turkish Eggs and Croque Madame.
Menza Restaurant and Café
Authentic Hungarian cuisine, recommended dishes include Roasted duck liver with sour cherry sauce and mashed potatoes (Cherry Duck Liver) and Hungarian goulash soup (beef soup with a Chinese-style flavor).
This walk-in restaurant does have seating outside of meal times, but it's best to make a reservation in advance.
Comme Chez Soi
It's too popular, couldn't get a table even after two walk-ins, always fully booked no matter what time, so if you're coming to Budapest, make sure to call/email and make a reservation a few days in advance.
Budapest has too many delicious foods, almost no chance of disappointment, and the prices are very cheap!
Transportation
Bolt taxi app allows cash payment without card binding.
Payment; calling a car is very convenient, basically arriving in two or three minutes; the price is not expensive, and if you don't live too far away, it's only a few euros to go to various scenic spots.
BudapestGO public transportation can be used with this app.
Budapest doesn't need too much planning, the distance between attractions is close, and it's beautiful to walk around everywhere! It's very safe here, and people are friendly
xavier.demetrius.nightshade Budapest Hungary 🇭🇺
Budapest is the capital of Hungary as well as one of the country in Eastern Europe. Everything is amazing here and you can find that the price is cheaper in comparison to another country. Fisherman’s bastion is one of the famous spot in Budapest and the design is spectacular. The stairs , the structure of the buildings are incredible and you can see the whole view of Budapest in here.
Let’s come to Budapest and enjoy !

Hungarian Parliament Building - Budapest
The Hungarian Parliament Building is one of the most iconic & grandiose architectural landmarks in Hungary. It serves as the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary, which is the country’s legislative body.
Located along the bank of Danube River, the building dominates the cityscape with its impressive Neo-Gothic design. This 18,000 square metres building is constructed began in 1885. The tower reaches a height of 96m, making it one of the tallest buildings in Budapest.
The interior of the building is equally impressive, featuring lavish decors, ornamental ceilings & exquisite stained glass windows. Visitors can book a guided tour to explore the inside, which I’m sure you will be very much amazed as I did.
You can get here by taking metro & alighting at Kossuth Lajos tér station (on M2 metro line).

Buda Castle
Early morning is definitely the best time to head your way to Buda Castle. I arrived (when it was raining) by 8am and there were around 10 other people there only. As I was finishing up taking photos and heading to the St Matthias area, large groups were appearing and the rain had started to subside.
To get there, I took one of the local buses from the just beside my City Centre hotel - really quick and easy.
Starting at the base of Fisherman’s Bastion, I walked up the steps and entered the courtyard of views. Here you can easily take photos of the city. I will admit, because I was there early I couldn’t see inside the buildings, it also meant that apart from my bus journey (and funicular ride) I didn’t pay anything to see the view and the whole area.

Budapest is an amalgamation of two historic cities lying right opposite each other over the Danube river, the City of Buda and the City of Pest.
The central area of Budapest along the Danube River is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has several notable monuments of classical architecture, including the Hungarian Parliament and the Buda Castle. The city also has around 80 geothermal springs, the largest thermal water cave system, second largest synagogue, and third largest Parliament building in the world.
This beautiful and picturesque city is indeed one of Europe’s best destinations. 🇭🇺 #budapest #hungary #2023travelwish #mytripvlog #tripblazers #foodie #urbanexplorer #awesomepic #passionpassport #celebratewithtrip

St. Stephen's Basilica Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Incredible Church
One of the Budapest must visits. Come early as it's very busy here. I suggest getting the rooftop combo package.
A striking basilica from outside, it's a great photo opportunity. Inside is mind blowing. Such beautiful and reverence. A true blessing to the almighty creator.
There are roped off spots for quiet prayer and reflection. Please take your hat off indoors. A group of Chinese tourists unfortunately showed a lack of respect by refusing to do so.
The treasure room is interesting with luxurious and historical relics from previous bishops.
The rooftop had great views on rainy or sunny days. It's worth the extra effort. You can take the lazy elevator or take the stairs like I did.
Combined ticket is 3500HUF or free for teachers

At any given moment, around 8 500 people can enter the majestic Neoclassical cathedral.
Apart from its size, the Basilica has a few distinguishing features:
The Szent Jobb, St. Stephen's mummified right hand, is Hungary's most precious treasure (Holy Right Hand),
