We were told that this huge stainless steel flower was only partially functional when we saw it. It is supposed to fully open in the sunshine but was only partly there.
Were here in January but the flower was not operating. We were told that it only works for about half of the year. Took only 15 minutes to stop and take a photo of it.

Some people visit with the plans of checking out a museum while others just want to take in the sheer beauty of this magnificent city. So, those who are seeking the later may want to consider taking a visit to the Floralis Genérica. The Floralis Generica is a statue of a flower with six petals made of aluminum and steel. Floralis Generica is a very cool steel sculpture of a large flower with six petals. The flower/petals automatically opens at dawn and closes at dusk. You can see the sculpture for free as it is conveniently located in a park.
This looks amazing at night! I love how it opens and closes like a real flower! and is located in prime real estate of the city!
