Palermo is not near, but the subway at Tribunales (2 blocks away) goes to Plaza Italia which is the heart of Palermo. Palermo is a huge area of the city, but it's mostly known for its trendy designer shops which have great appeal for urban hipsters and high-end eateries. But Palermo also has beautiful gardens which are well worth a visit.
Palermo is the lovely side of town, where all of the tourists and students usually stop, so there's movement through day and night. If you are visiting Buenos Aires, you should take a tour round the Plaza Serrano http://www.plazaserrano.com which is located in the heart of Palermo Soho and gives it a magical bohemian atmosphere.
Walking distance from our little apartment. Great - trendy and fun shops and restaurants. People watching too. VRBO/113654
The best neighborhood in Buenos Aires. Palermo Soho is known as the restaurant and shopping mecca of the city.
Great area for restaurants and shops.
One of the better places to stay in B.A. if you're looking for an easy way to get out and experience the (great) nightlife. Near all the clubs, while still retaining a village atmosphere, Palermo Soho is not that different in style and feel from NYC Soho. Small shops are worth the visit during the day, dinner can be delicious at night, and clubbing is never bad in the early morning here.
This is the a fashion district where mainly independent designers sell their products. You will find many original one of a kind clothes. Also you have Plaza Serrano which has a flea market on the afternoons. Very nearby is Plaza Armenia which is a square with lots of cafes, pubs, and small restaurants with tables on the sidewalks. Saturday afternoons is booming with people !
