CAFÉ IN A FOREST!
Five stars without a doubt. If I could give it 10, I definitely would.
It is an excellent place for trying Bulgarian food while enjoying Bulgarian folk music and dances.
The staff was very attentive and kindly helped us with recommendations.
The food was simply delicious. I tried the goulash, and the beef was extremely well-spiced and tender. We also ordered garlic bread, which was really, really good - I strongly recommend it.
The Bulgarian show was outstanding, with extremely skilled dancers and singers with beautiful voices. All of this made the atmosphere there very special - everybody was happy and having a good time.
I highly recommend this restaurant and hope to visit it again very soon.

The most famous attraction in Bulgaria
Here it is: the famous Cathedral Saint Aleksandar Nevski. It is HUGE and beautiful. ☺️ It was the biggest one when it was build. The colors are very impressive and you can see the yellow even you being very away from the church. It is FREE to enter it and it is very beautiful inside but you can’t pictures if you don’t pay a high fee. It is located in Sofia downtown and you can easily reach to it by walking from anywhere you are in the city. It is unlikely any cathedral I have ever seen and the most memorable I have ever visited. It completely worth the visit! Book your trip now and visit Sofia! Give yourself a trip to this beautiful Cathedral! 👏🏻

[Travel around Eastern Europe] Sophia
leave the Western Balkans, to the foot of the Balkan Mountains in Bulgaria.
When I first arrived in Sofia, I felt that the citys appearance was much less developed than that of Croatia. The residential houses were somewhat run-down, the commercial street was sluggish, and many old people on the road who looked like disability and homelessness...but huge Soviet style Buildings, heroic monuments, closed intersections and underground passages make me feel that there are many similarities with China. Even the supermarkets on Sunday are still open as usual. It can be said that it is not very European.
The taxi driver told me that I was Chinese and you said, you know, the ancient Bulgarians are your neighbors! I said that I know that in the morning, I have just made up the history of Bulgaria. The ancient Turkic branch came from Asia to the land between the Black Sea and the Aegean Sea, and merged with the Thracians and the Slavs to form a modern Bulgarian.
Alexander Nevsky Church is like a huge space fortress, shining in the setting sun, every side is so beautiful. At the dusk of the Soviet Army Monument Square, the children are playing with skateboarding bicycles, and adults are dancing here in the square ballroom dance. This scene touched me. They are a group of people who are trying to be happy even if they don't have any money.

Rila - symbol of Bulgarian national identity
#fallingseason
Rila Monastery - is located in southwestern part situated in the valley of Rila mountains, and some 70 miles south of Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria.
Getting there: A direct coach from Sofia’s St. Alexander Nevski Square to Rila Monastery via Traventuria bus takes approximately 2 hrs. with daily schedule.
Another suggestion would be to book a day trip for private pick up and drop off options.
Attraction: It’s more than just a building, this monastery was founded in 10th century by St. John of Rila, regarded it as one of Bulgaria’s most cultural, historical and architectural monuments and key attraction for Bulgaria and Southern Europe.
Accommodations: For pilgrims and tourists, accommodations can be booked via website, though a day trip from Sofia might be enough.
Best Time to Travel: I would say between autumn period where you can also appreciate stunning foliage all around Rila mountains.
A must-visit when you’re traveling Bulgaria. #underratedplacesineurope
Quick escape from Sofia - Rila Monastery
Getting there by car - Drive for 2 hours from Sofia but best is to join guided tour because there’s lot of things you can learn about the monastery and history of Bulgaria. The monastery is named after its founder, Saint John of Rila who live in a cave nearby the monastery.
The monastery was build by one of his students and its used as an education complex. There is also paid museum that help you to learn more history of Bulgaria
The view and surrounding around the monastery is amazing. If you feel hungry there is a bakery that sell traditional Bulgarian bread and also few restaurants. There’s also souvenirs shop that sell rose soap and miniature rose perfume.
Tips: Avoid visiting on Christmas or New Year eve as some place will close early or totally close.

Khadzhi Dimitur Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
People are less expensive and cheaper. Bulgarian self-driving Raiders
How much does it cost to go to Europe? 20,000? 30,000?
Come here, 8000 is enough!
People with less beauty, Bulgaria will never let you down!
Cost: We stayed in Bulgaria for 11 days in total, except for air tickets (everyone flies from different places, Shanghai is 5000), all other expenses (accommodation, car rental, fueling, eating, tickets, shopping) Count) per capita 3000! That's right, 3000 per capita! Accommodation is the cheapest, and the three of us booked a two-bedroom, one-bedroom hotel every day. The facilities are complete and comfortable, and the average price is less than 300 nights! Eating and selling food is very cheap, and the price of China's third-tier cities is similar. The car is slightly more expensive, but the total is really cheap to get a finger, so many Southeast Asian countries do not have such low consumption! One word: value!
Self-driving route: Sophia ~ Shipka (UFO monument) ~ Veliko Tarnovo ~ Varna ~ Nesebar ~ Burgas ~ Sozopol ~ Plovdiv ~ Lira ~ Sophia
count A very deep tour of the trip, the Bulgarian country is not small, the first time I feel that 11 days in Bulgaria will be a little waste, it turns out that there are too many fun places, every place feels that time is not enough, the whole even feels a bit rushed Many places because too beautiful and too leisurely hate can not stay here for a month!
The most recommended place:
UFO Monument I am here for this Bulgaria, seeing more shocked! Although I can't go in now, it's still worth seeing! (Car followed by navigation can be opened to the monument, we opened the wrong direction so climbed a hill)
Veliko Tarnovo the whole city is very charming, the ancient city wife is too good to see, recommended two days!
Nesebar, the ancient city is a small island, really beautiful, everywhere beautiful, want to buy a house here for a lifetime!
Sozopol Super recommended one attraction: the Castle of Ravadinovo We mistakenly hit a castle, amazing to fly, there are many holes to explore, and attractions are free! Really take a big shot!
Plovdiv Old Town can go shopping for a day! There is also a mountain attraction called the Alyosha Monument, which overlooks the entire Plovdiv in 360 degrees and is spectacular!
Automobile and travel tips:
Bulgarian mountain roads are more, it is recommended to rent a little car! The rules of driving are similar to those of China, paying attention to polite pedestrians! Passengers in the car must wear seat belts even if they are sitting in the back row! Be sure to pay attention to the speed on the highway. The road is too good and too easy to get 140 yards! There is labor in refueling, and the fuel tank cover on the car will generally write which oil to add, telling the staff that "full" is full!
Most places can be swiped, with a good visa or MasterCard credit card, UnionPay can't! Because the consumption is cheap, you can change some cash! With the euro in the past, the airport has a window to change money!
Bulgarian people's English is not very popular, many young people will say that older people are... but relying on body language does not affect communication!
[Face travel] brushing the ticket circle of the super-burning niche ~ Bulgarian UFO monument!
Two years ago, because of a photo of the UFO monument, I planted grass in Bulgaria. I have been thinking about it. Now I can finally stand in front of it, and I can still take my brother, and I just want to tears!
Approximately three hours drive from Sofia, the car can be driven directly to the UFO monument! Please navigation: Buzludzha Monument
Well, we stopped the car with the locals at another monument below. The locals said they could only climb up, so... climbed up and found that the car could be driven from the other side!
Before you can climb the tunnel into the UFO, this year the tunnel was blocked for security reasons. A few days ago, I saw online that there is security, charging 50 RMB for one person to open the door for everyone to enter! And we just turned over there and didn't see the shadow of the security guard... Well, this is a pity!
The Ice Peak Monument was once the headquarters of the Bulgarian Communist Party and is located on the top of the Buzludzha in the middle of the Balkan Mountains. Construction began in 1974, and huge human and material resources were invested, and more than 15 were removed with TNT explosives.
At the moment, it was near evening, the sunset outside was very beautiful, and the big fire burned the clouds. I quickly went downstairs and climbed out to take pictures. When I got to the hole, the American couple was still there. I wondered if I wanted to see that I was alive and went in. I climbed out and patted the gray on the body and showed them the photos in the camera. Looking at the playback photos, the American sisters eyes came out and said to me, Bruce lee!, I looked at her boyfriends bad. The gaze waved his finger at the hair I tied the wire "no, call me Daniel Wu!".
Too lazy to care that they can't go down. I took a tripod and took a breath from dusk. At 1 o'clock in the middle of the moon, the moon rises, even the dinner is not eaten. The flying saucer under the clouds and the Milky Way is even more mysterious and shocking. Love this place
