    Reclamation

The island is no more an island. Reclamation is not a good practice. The views are great. Hope it remains that way.

Additional Information

Introduction

Dongbaekseom Island, so-named for the dongbaek trees growing there, is actually no longer an island. While today it is connected to the mainland, it remains popular with locals and tourists for Dongbaek Park and 2.5 m tall statue of a mermaid near the beach. Climbing up the hill, visitors will find a monument to the scholar and writer Choe Chi-Won. The vantage point also offers a beautiful view of Gwangangdaegyo Bridge and Haeundae Beach.
