Lake
The Royal Baths were constructed at the end of the 12th century. They were built under the orders of Jayavarman VII. They were used to venerate the Boddhisatvas, and are "cloud worship" style buildings. They were also the location for holding bathing ceremonies, and, akin to in other large pools, there was originally a shrine in the middle. Today only the stone base of it remains. This location also has one of the best viewpoints to watch the sunrise at Angkor Wat. There are not too many people who watch the sunrise here, so it is particularly peaceful and quiet. The scene set off by the sunshine on the surface of the pool is very beautiful.
