Harana Surf Resort!
Harana resort a very wonderful place to stay at, and excellent location for tourists who are interested in surfing. They respond immediately thru email, contact numbers and social media. I love the interior of the place, it's cozy and has natural lighting from the room. If you're a nature lover, you'll definitely love the place.
The location is perfect for surfers enthusiast and there's no private pool available in this place. The place have a coffee place, resto and an outside bar. There's really not much food to choose from the mune, but their food is quite good, as well as their juices, shakes and cocktails. Overall, I definitely will recommend this place to my friends, and will definitely go back here again. ❤️

Cloud 9, one of the surfing spots in Siargao, is the reason why this laidback island came into the radar of international travelers. For non-surfers, Siargao can also be a good destination for a much-needed island getaway.
There are white sand beaches, picturesque islands, blue-green waters perfect for snorkeling and diving, waterfalls, lagoons, and caves.
The island also boasts delicious local and international cuisine for every discerning palate. Travelers usually stay in General Luna for the surf spots, but Del Carmen is also getting more popular because of the Sugba Lagoon.

Enchanted River Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
truly enchanting blue river!
Enchanted River also called the Hinatuan Sacred River is a hidden gem on the east coast of Mindanao, Philippines.
Getting There - it’s a long travel from Davao City but it’s super worth the trip 💯 we were on the road for about 6 hours 😅
Attractions - the blue river nonetheless!! as soon as you set your eyes on this magical body of water, you can’t help but feel charmed! truly fascinating 😍
They conduct a daily fish feeding around noon time where different types of fish gather as the “Hymn of Hinatuan” plays in the background.
Food & Restaurants - there are local vendors and food stalls qs well as a covered area for dining

The Magical Story of Hinatuan Enchanted River
Have you heard about the Hinatuan Enchanted River located on the island of Mindanao, Philippines? If not yet, you may want to continue reading. :)
This river is one of the the wonders of Mindanao and even the Philippines not just because of its clear and crystal waters but also because this place is preserving the folklore in the country.
As per the locals, some sort of supernatural beings are protecting the river allowing it to be a home to many fishes and for the waters to continue to glow and be as luminescent even today.
And we, as the visitors of the place should respect this story. Just like in any tourist destination, before we head over to the river itself, we had a short briefing of the dos and dont’s for everyone’s safety. Please pay attention to the briefing personnel.
Trivia: One of the big No-No is being too loud.
We had to almost whisper when talking there to respect nature and everything that comes with it.
And yes! There is a portion of the river where you are allowed to swim. Didn’t had a photo cause we were too overwhelmed and very careful.
📍Talisay, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur 🇵🇭
✈️ Nearest Airport: Surigao Airport (Domestic)
You should tick this off your list soon ✅

Enchanted River
One of the unique features of the Enchanted River is its unfathomable depth. There have been a number of diving expeditions which aimed to uncover this mystery, but have unfortunately failed. It was said that these professional divers experienced different roadblocks such as strong current and blocked passageways. I have read that the farthest they were able to go was 200 feet.
I was more than contented with the feeling of joy and wonder upon seeing lovely place. It was really mesmerizing and captivated my heart! (big words!) I really pray that come hundreds of years, Enchanted River will still remain to be as clean and beautiful as I first saw it.

Magpupungko Beach Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Magpupungko Rocks Pools and Flats 🏊♀️
This is one of the most iconic tourist spots in the beautiful island of Siargao.
Magpupungko is such an amazing place. Imagine a naturally made pool in the sea due to the rock formations.
Best to visit during low tide as the pool would be visible at that time.
Also, we can only swim during low tide as it is too risky to swim during high tide thus not allowed by the authorities.
Not to worry though as the locals will suggest for the best time to visit.
Be careful in swimming the lagoon or pool as it is too deep.
📍Magpupungko Rock Pools, Pilar, Surigao del Norte (Siargao Island)

Magpupungko Rocks Pools, Siargao!
Magpupungko Rock Pools on Siargao Island are one of the most popular things to do and easily my favorite day trip on the island. Just a 45-minute moped drive from the main tourist area of General Luna, the rock pools are exposed at low tide and are an awesome spot for hours of exploring and cliff jumping.
However, nice these may be, there is no chance that they come close to being as good as the natural swimming holes at Magpupungko Rock Pools.
This natural phenomenon has created a handful of natural rock pools that appear every day at low tide. There are lots of different pools dotted along the coastline in this area, so even though it is a popular tourist attraction you won’t be packed into one small pool.
The crystal clear blue water here is amazing and looked even better from above when we chucked the drone up to grab some aerial shots. When the tide is out, the sun warms the pools up really quickly, making them ideal for lazing in for a couple of hours. Grab some friends, jump on a scooter and make your way up to the ultimate Siargao rock pools.
Throughout our years of travelling there have been certain locations that have resonated with us as a result of the culture, the people and the environment. Siargao is without a doubt one of those special places.

Siargao land tour
how to explore siargao?
By Tricycle. Tricycle are usually on par with the habal-habals.
By Rented Motorcycle. You can also rent motorbikes for PHP 500 for 24 hours.
By Bike. Bikes cost PHP 150 for 24 hours.
By Car Rental. On one of our trips, we have rented a Toyota Avanza for only P3000 per day (24 hours). We’ve seen also seen posters advertising smaller cars for rent for P2500 per day.
Siargao Land Tour
You can explore the main island and see the wonders it keeps in its jagged corners and lush landscapes. Here are the usual stops of the land tour (not in order):
Magpupungko Rock Pools. During low tide, the receding coastline reveals rock formations and natural pools perfect for some leisurely swimming. It’s an all-natural infinity pool, so to speak. Entrance fee: P50.
Sugba Lagoon. Within the lagoon is a two-story docking area where you can stay and rent a table for PHP 50. The cool, turquoise waters seem to invite everyone to explore the lagoon’s site, and there’s equipment available to do just that. There are paddle boards, canoes, and snorkeling paraphernalia available onsite for rent. There’s also a diving platform you can use for free. Entrance fee: P50.
Coconut Mountain View. Siargao is carpeted with almost endless rows of coconut trees. It makes exploring the island more fun because of the relaxing green scenery and the various Instagrammable spots along the way.
Maasin River. A picturesque river, especially the spot with the bent coconut tree extending over the river. There’s a rope attached to the tree where you can swing and plunge into the river.

Siargao Islands
The huge waves look ominous the first time you see it.
I asked my boatman, Jojo, what I’m seeing. Is that turbulent area dangerous? Is it inaccessible to fishers and swimmers? Should I, um, tighten my life jacket?
He chuckled. “Oh, that,” he said in a voice that suggested he’s had this conversation many times before. “Those are the Cloud 9 waves. Surfers love those.”
And then it hit me like ’em big kahunas: this is Siargao, Glenn. There are supposed to be waves.
While the uninitiated like me may feel uneasy, for the people of who call Siargao home, these waves are the most familiar thing. As the name implies, it’s their piece of heaven.
Siargao is an island located off the northeastern coast of Mindanao. It is within the jurisdiction of Surigao Del Norte province, and composed of nine municipalities: Burgos, Dapa, Del Carmen, General Luna, Pilar, San Benito, San Isidro, Santa Monica and Socorro. Around the main island are smaller islands, included as part of the Siargao Group.
Siargao is known today as a surfing mecca, a place where thrill-seekers the world over gather to ride the waves. For the local population, however, Siargao is their simple, non-assuming hometown, with vast swaths of coconut farms, thick mangroves, and secluded coves. If it’s your first time here, it’s hard to ignore the contrast between the adventuring, wide-eyed tourists and the simple, stoic ways of the locals. Case in point: me and Jojo.
The island is a relatively sheltered surfing destination until around the early 2010s, when word of the island’s majestic waves exploded in the surfing world. Today, surfing culture is pretty much a staple in the island. This is particularly true in General Luna, where the island’s best waves can be found.

Let’s go to Amontay Beach Resort
If you are looking for a place to relax, swim, chill and at the same party too - this is the place to be.
This is ideal for people who will travel in group with family or friends.
We had the most wonderful time when we were there and we cannot wait to be back soon.
We booked their triangular rooms and we had the best view of the resort in the morning, noon and at night plus the beautiful sunset too.
Con: They have black sands (unfortunately not white)
Pros:
- They have a swimming pool
- They are not strict with food and drinks. We can bring anything we want without paying corkage
- Live Band
TRIVIA: Their Live Band at night is the one of the highlights of the resort but you have to visit on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays so you can join the fun and if you are lucky, you can enjoy the Foam party too which is not always the case but is a bonus.

A Paradise within Paradise
Going to and from different tourist attractions can be tiring as it requires transportation that could mean you are on the road for hours. This is when the choice of accommodation comes in to play. Are you staying at a place where you feel relaxed no matter how tiring the adventures were?
