In addition to bad weather, the museum is open every day at 11:00 a.m. at the end of a short coastal road in Kuntai Bay (Quintay cove) (clear sign). The space where the museum is located is a restored old Quintay whaling ship; The place is divided into 5 sections covering different themes related to whales, and as of January 2020 some of them are incomplete or under construction. There are two materials in English and Spanish, but at least four of the 5 rooms are available, and the small rooms have audiovisual materials. Facilities have free bathrooms.
