Additional Information

Introduction

The Kaiyuan Temple is a Buddhist temple located in the Xiangqiao District of Chaozhou, Guangdong, China. This temple was built upon decree of Emperor Xuanzong, and was named after his reign title: Kaiyuan. Though many repairs have been required throughout the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, the basic layout remains the same as per the Tang dynasty. The temple retains a special status in the area. Walking through the beautiful tiled walls, the ancient architecture may be enjoyed, along with many national treasure, which are currently on display, all while catching a whiff of the remnants of incense burned long ago.
