Chengdu is a city on the rise, one you will want to visit again and again. Chengdu has a long and storied history. It has a unique cuisine with a huge number of hot and spicy dishes, as well as an enviously relaxed pace of life. Historic Jinli’s overpowering sense of enthralling antiquity, adorable giant pandas and avenues full of hotpot restaurants all call out to welcome visitors from near and far. On the outskirts of town, you can find quiet solace in peaceful Qingcheng Mountain or the bucolic ancient town of Anning. It is a vastly different side of Chengdu. Chengdu is also a fashionable city. The nightscape of Jiuyan (the Nine Arched) Bridge and the nearby Kuanzhai Alley truly make people feel the fast-paced pulse of the city.
LilyIt’s not to far from the city center, easy to get there by subway. Air is fresh, pleasant view, amazing cute pandas 🐼 Park is very big, need a lot of time to see all of it and take pictures. I don’t mind going there again.
_FB***97This is to highlight that the nearest train station is no longer the Du Jiang Yan station, they have newly open a new station which is just right at door step - Li Dui Gong Yuan station (离堆公园站).Du Jiang Yan has 3 significant sections - upper, mid and bottom, we took a small bus from bottom to upper stream, and walk back to the bottom stream. Unlike the usual concrete path, we chose to walk from the mountain side, which allows us to see the entire stream of river - this is really amazing, but your leg will be sore by then, a lot of tracking indeed, but it really worth it!I personally like the color of the water, mixed of blue and green, despite the misty weather, I still managed to catch a nice photo of the entire Du Jiang Yan.Don’t forget to have a walk at the old street when you leave the place, we pop by a small eating place and they do serve a very nice dishes (农家小炒).
_FB***43What an absolutely incredible experience for our family of 4 Americans, including 2ten daughters. The mountain was lush with foliage and so green. The buildings were incredible and the views at the top were not too be missed. It was worth the trekk through the heart, humidity, and traffic to see this beautiful place.

Journey is my passion
Continuing my #travelstories , but this is the 2020 edition. Day 6 of Chinese quarantine and this morning was the first time I have seen the sun. Chinese winters often get smoggy and my welcome back met the standard for everybody. I have 8 days left before I can board the train to my city, yet I have already stared out the window for longer than reasonable. The buildings here are often copy and pasted, lined up next to each other in droves. #staycation
China has become so difficult to get into but it is thanks to this that the country is maintaining society. It was a huge victory when I got my visa approved and an even more huge one to find a way here. Upon arrival you are shipped at random to a hotel where you spend the next 14 days in your room, even opening the door trips a motion sensor and broadcasts the message “this is a restricted area, please return to your designated room.” Talk about #staycation !
My first time to be here! It’s really a peaceful place. We takes around 3.5 hr to climb to the top and 2.5 to the end. It’s a little bit tired if you seldom workout 😂
Happened to be visiting #chengdu during a Hanfu festival. Hanfu is the name given to traditional Han Chinese clothing. The festival featured hundreds of people wearing all manner of Han (and non-Han) ethic costumes. It was quite something.
The Ping’an Bridge Catholic Church is the largest Catholic Church in #chengdu and was built in 1904. The exterior colors have faded a bit and unfortunately we were not able to go inside. Sculptures of the Apostles are set in the wall surrounding the church. It’s a pretty location.
