Temples and related attractions. Just beside the Grand Palace and near Wat Pho.
Wat Phra Kaeo is an incredible temple within Bangkok’s Grand Palace. It was designed as the private temple of the royal family and is one of the holiest sites in Thailand. The central temple building has three levels you can walk around, and outside of this there are further smaller shrines and stupas to explore.
The most famous Wat Phra Kaew is situated in Bangkok. Only few know that there is another temple of the same name in Chiang Rai! It is beautiful and about 600 years old. We like this temple because it is very relaxing. It is a perfect place for meditating, watch the traditional Thai culture and admire Thai architecture.
This temple used to contain the famous Emerald Buddha until lightning stuck the chedi cracking it open. Since then the Buddha was moved to the sister temple of Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok. There is only a replica in its place but it's still an interesting temple to visit here in Chiang Rai.
The Temple of the Emerald Buddha in Chiang Rai can be said to be a national treasure temple in Thailand, and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok is copied from his form. There is an invaluable sapphire Buddha. It is very solemn and invaluable. It can be described as a priceless treasure in Thailand, and it is worthwhile to appreciate it.
