About Chibi: Chibi (“Red Cliffs”) is in southeast Hubei, on the south bank of the central Yangtze River where the lower hills of the Mufu Mountains descend into the Jianghan Plain. In ancient times, Chibi was known as “Puqi.” The name originates from the establishment of Puqi County in the second year of the reign of Huangwu of the Eastern Dong during the Three Kingdoms period (around 223). Many reeds grew in the area because of its plentiful lakes. In ancient times, such reeds were woven into cushions, so the county was named Puqi (“Place of Reeds) as a market for them formed here. Famous attractions here include the site of the ancient Battle of Red Cliffs, Lushui Lake, and Water Margin Town - a replica ancient town built by China Central Television as a filming location.
