If you're looking to go fancy then this is certainly one of the best places to do it. Reservations will have to be secured months ahead of time. Certainly good for a romantic date night.
Order a few Piattini (small dishes) to come out along with your entrees to help round out the meal. Try the Gnocchi with Wild Boar Ragu.
The wild boar gnocchi (and I added wild hen of the woods mushrooms) divine!
Impressive and surely a dish that can last well into fall, is the farm egg with its molten yolk resting atop a sensual bed of polenta and showered with shavings of summer truffle.
The lambs leg... Whew Soo good and the service here was A1! They gave us free dessert since we were celebrating our anniversary too!
Not only is this restaurant a Chicago institution, but its also a Presidential pick. The First Family is known to hit up this James Beard Award-winning restaurant when passing through the Windy City.

A sister cafe to the impressive Italian fine-dining venue, the cafe boasts lake views and consistently delicious fare, such as the gnocchi tossed with green beans, potatoes, and pesto.
Be sure to try the ne Birre Artiginale menu featuring craft beers from Italy. I'm sampling the Re Ale Birra del Borgo with flavors of baked orange and a caramel honey finish.
Food critics (and President Obama) will argue it's the best Italian restaurant in the country. Order any of the pasta dishes—they're all amazing.
